We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Karra Wise. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with karra below.
Karra, appreciate you making time for us and sharing your wisdom with the community. So many of us go through similar pain points throughout our journeys and so hearing about how others overcame obstacles can be helpful. One of those struggles is keeping creativity alive despite all the stresses, challenges and problems we might be dealing with. How do you keep your creativity alive?
I try and surround myself with curious people that want to make and/or do things! I feel like there is always something to make, learn, fix or just do! It’s not fun being in a rut or staying too still.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
I am a maker (mostly pottery) and I host events in a space called In The Shed. I curate intimate but well supported Makers Markets where other artists can showcase and sell their work. I sell my pottery. I collaborate in small classes with makers… giving them and myself the opportunity to share knowledge and spend time to build community. I also collaborate with Chefs and have dinners In The Shed! It’s so special and unique!
I am having my annual All Pottery Popup September 13th it’s always Saturdays, 11am-3pm. I think we’re up to 14 potters!
Look out for holiday dates!

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
I would say clear communication but also staying humble (don’t pretend to know it all cause you don’t) and lastly what you’re doing has to come from the heart to make an impact!

How can folks who want to work with you connect?
Oh I love to collaborate …. my list is longggg on what kind of things i would do. If you’re in the Seattle area and want to teach a class you can contact me by email karra@karraiwse .com i suggest looking at my IG and if that aligns with you please reach out. @karra_wise
