Meet Karron Dodd

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Karron Dodd a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Karron, you’ve got such an interesting story, but before we jump into that, let’s first talk about a topic near and dear to us – generosity. We think success, happiness and wellbeing depends on authentic generosity and empathy and so we’d love to hear about how you become such a generous person – where do you think your generosity comes from?

Growing up, I experienced the weight of unfulfilled wants firsthand. Raised by my Great Grandmother on a fixed income, I lived in the most run-down house along the bus line. Those early struggles shaped me, instilling a deep understanding of what it feels like to have a need but no way to meet it.

As I stepped into adulthood, I carried that awareness with me. I have always had a heart for giving because I know the frustration and sadness that come with going without. That same generosity is now the foundation of my business. My mission is simple: to serve and meet the needs of those I have the privilege to connect with.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?

In 2018, I launched Ruby Girl with a mission to help women reconnect with their God-given identity, as outlined in Proverbs 31:10-31. The name Ruby Girl comes from Proverbs 31:10—”Who can find a virtuous woman? For her price is far above rubies.” But this brand is more than a business idea; it’s a movement dedicated to restoring the value of women.

Throughout history, women have lost much of the power, respect, and influence they once held. Today, I see women struggling to find their purpose and worth in a world that often diminishes their value. Ruby Girl is here to change that. It’s a platform that teaches women how to embrace their worth, live purposefully, and balance the roles of wife, mother, and entrepreneur—just like the Proverbs 31 woman.

I found my own purpose when I started teaching women how to build healthy relationships. This led me to write my first book, A Ruby Girl’s Guide to Exiting Domestic Abuse, a journal designed to help women break free from abusive relationships. My second book, Why Isn’t the Good Woman Married?, speaks directly to the single Christian woman who has been waiting for a husband and needs encouragement in her waiting season.

To expand the Ruby Girl brand and spread its message, I sell T-shirts, totes, and more at rubygirl.net—because the Ruby Girl brand is not just a movement, it’s an identity.

As the host of the Ruby Girl Talk Show, I provide a space where people can share their life stories and showcase their businesses. It’s a platform for inspiration, and real conversations about relationships, and success. Through this show, I amplify the voices of those who have overcome obstacles and are walking boldly in their purpose.

The Proverbs 31 woman is proof that a woman living in her purpose blesses everyone connected to her. In Proverbs 31:28, her children and husband praise her. When a woman fully embraces her God-given identity, she unlocks her true power, and that’s exactly what the Ruby Girl Movement is all about.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

Teaching, focus, and stepping out of my comfort zone were all crucial in helping me build an international brand. I truly believe people want to learn, and I don’t believe in gatekeeping. I share a lot of what I know because I genuinely love seeing others succeed. Teaching is a gift for me—there’s nothing better than helping someone grow and learn something new.

When you get really focused on your purpose, everything starts to fall into place. Your vision becomes clearer, and you begin to move with intention. And as for the comfort zone—it might feel safe, but growth only happens when you’re willing to take risks and push yourself beyond what feels familiar. That’s when the real transformation starts.

Awesome, really appreciate you opening up with us today and before we close maybe you can share a book recommendation with us. Has there been a book that’s been impactful in your growth and development?

My business journey was birthed from a used book at the Salvation Army. The book was sitting on top of all the other books in the box and it caught my eye. The One Minute Millionaire by Jack Canfield ignited a desire in me to become a million dollar business owner. The book is unique because one side is fiction and the other side of the book is non-fiction. It had so many business nuggets that my mind would be leaping with ideas as I read it. I have read the book several times and every time I get a fresh perspective on business. I have heard several millionaires say they have read this book. I love stories so I was naturally drawn to the fictional story of a woman named Michelle who had to make a million dollars in 30 days to get her children back. The book gave me several ideas for how to quickly become a millionaire which I have implemented in my business. I recommend that every business owner read this book.
