Meet Karshyra Marshall

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Karshyra Marshall. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Karshyra, so good to have you with us today. We’ve always been impressed with folks who have a very clear sense of purpose and so maybe we can jump right in and talk about how you found your purpose?
When you think of purpose, it comes with these three questions in mind. 1. Why do I exist? What am I called on earth to do? Will what I create in this world be beneficial and/or have a lasting impact?

If you have ever found yourself in life shifting or overcoming a hard time in your life. You may have found yourself, asking yourself. What is my purpose, why am I going through this, and what other hardships may just be lurking around the corner.

When it came to discovering my purpose, I noticed I was in an area of my life where I was experiencing a shift. A shift with love ones passing, loss of friendships, and healing. I always had a passion to educate my friends and family members about asthma.

Having asthma and finding it difficult to attend a few of my doctor visits outside of the bus line. I always knew I did not want that to be story or someone else’s. I figured if there were ways to meet the needs of this specific population, why not find ways to help create an impact. I started my business as a blog, then turned it into a 501(c)3 non-profit. My purpose started off as something I did not want to commit to when I first began. Once I began to receive support, I knew then that that would be

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Looking back, what I think the three areas of knowledge that were most impactful in my journey is building connections. You never know who may know someone that can point you in the right direction to help you and your business grow. The second area of knowledge is having access to someone who knows how to write grants. This way it doesn’t slow you down and you can build relationships on other areas of your business if you have a non-profit or for-profit. Lastly, being able to PIVOT in your business. When an individual has the knowledge to understand when things are not working out in certain areas of your business or journey. Knowing when to move, stay, and or/change the circumstances of your situation if things do not pan out the way they should.

My advice to individuals who is pursuing entrepreneurism, creator, blogger, etc. The goal is to find what you love and stick with it. Always be open to take learning something new

Awesome, really appreciate you opening up with us today and before we close maybe you can share a book recommendation with us. Has there been a book that’s been impactful in your growth and development?
The Four Agreements (Don Miguel Ruiz) is a great book I have read that has impacted my entrepreneurial thinking and philosophy. This book teaches you to not take things personal, never make assumptions, do not assume and always do your best. The author breaks down ways in how we came into this world with many disadvantages to our name, religion, cultural, etc. and how it has shaped the way we interact with others and what we all carry into relationships. I have always heard to never take things personal and to never make assumptions, but in reality we always do the opposite. This book showed me a different perception of my reality and how to take on business decisions along my journey. Anything I encounter in my business, whether it be No’s, Yes’s, people offering help but unable to produce or come through is never personal and it is not always a reflection of me. Life is full of challenges, be it good or bad. Everything is a lesson to help you to become better and more cognizant along the way.
