Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Kash Howard. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Kash, great to have you with us today and excited to have you share your wisdom with our readers. Over the years, after speaking with countless do-ers, makers, builders, entrepreneurs, artists and more we’ve noticed that the ability to take risks is central to almost all stories of triumph and so we’re really interested in hearing about your journey with risk and how you developed your risk-taking ability.
I developed my ability to take risks by constantly betting on myself. Life forced me to — there were times when others didn’t believe in my vision, so I had to believe for myself. Every time I stepped out on faith, it worked. I broke barriers, achieved what others doubted, and realized the power of trusting my own instincts. That taught me that the only validation that truly matters is the one I give myself. Taking risks became second nature because, for me, risk was the only option — and self-belief was the reward.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
I’m a celebrity wardrobe stylist and costume designer in film, television, and live productions — and the founder of 7Furs & Leathers, a luxury outerwear brand for men and women. I’ve always had a deep love for coats — furs, leathers, anything that completes a look and makes a statement before you even say a word.
7Furs & Leathers was born from that passion. It’s designed for those who appreciate craftsmanship, bold elegance, and quiet luxury. My brand speaks to women who love opulence and men who understand timeless style — people unafraid to command attention through quality and confidence. I’m not for the everyday girl, unless she’s ready to become that girl — the It Girl, the statement, the muse.
Recently, 7Furs & Leathers was invited to showcase at New York Fashion Week, where we hit the runway with a collection of vivacious, statement-making furs and leathers. Our pieces have also been seen on several well-known celebrities and A-listers, solidifying our place in the world of high-end fashion.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Looking back, I’d say the three most impactful qualities that shaped my journey were resilience, intuition, and vision.
Resilience kept me going when doors didn’t open right away. In this industry, rejection is part of the process — but I learned to let every “no” strengthen my drive instead of weaken it.
Intuition guided my creative and business decisions. Whether I’m styling a celebrity, designing a fur, or curating a look for television, I trust my gut. It’s rarely wrong.
And vision — that’s what allows me to see beyond the moment. I’ve always seen myself and my brand in rooms that I wasn’t yet in, and I moved accordingly until I got there.
For anyone starting out, my advice is: trust yourself early. Build your craft, but also build your inner confidence. Don’t chase what’s trending — create what feels authentic to you. The more you believe in your own eye, your own voice, your own energy — the more the world will believe it too.

What would you advise – going all in on your strengths or investing on areas where you aren’t as strong to be more well-rounded?
I’ve learned that it’s always best to go all in on your strengths — that’s where your magic lives. The world will try to convince you to play small or fit into boxes, but your strengths are what make you stand out in the first place. When you fully lean into what you do best, you create a lane that no one else can duplicate.
That said, being well-rounded has its value — but I believe that comes naturally once you’ve mastered your foundation. When I started styling, I didn’t try to be everything. I focused on my eye for detail, my ability to tell stories through clothing, and my connection with people. Those were my superpowers. Over time, that focus opened doors into costume design, television, and later my own brand, 7Furs & Leathers.
