Meet KaShanna Hale

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful KaShanna Hale a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

KaShanna , looking forward to learning from your journey. You’ve got an amazing story and before we dive into that, let’s start with an important building block. Where do you get your work ethic from?
I believe watching my mom and dad work to provide for the family made me want to work hard. I didn’t see them complaining, they just made sure me and my sisters were taken care of.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
I have been a Master Cosmetologist for almost 15 years. In this industry you where many hats, a colorist, a hair loss specialist, a friend, a therapist, the list goes on. It’s truly a passion what I do because I put smiles on faces daily.

After 9 years in the industry, in 2019 I decided to get certified as a Wellness Life Coach. With the changes I made to my lifestyle, my clients could see it and wanted to know what I was doing.

I feel my clientele loved me for taking great care of their hair but I also wanted them to understand their internal state was also important. Healthy Hair starts from the inside out.

This gave me the advantage to stand out from so many in the hair industry. I’m not only a hairstylist, I’m an Army Veteran, a Certified Hair Loss Specialist, Wellness Life Coach, Personal Trainer, and a Mindfulness Teacher.

I’m able to help women externally and internally, Alignment.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
The 3 qualities that were most impactful is my spirituality which keeps me balanced. My willingness to learn understanding that I don’t have all the answers. Lastly, understanding my purpose, which is to serve.

My advice to someone early in their journey is to write down your WHY and be intentional. I really didn’t have a plan, a counselor to help me, so it took 10 years after High School to figure out what I really wanted to do.

Also it’s OK to fail. It’s OK to not have it figured out early. Just go with the flow and enjoy every moment Life has to offer…the good and the bad.

Awesome, really appreciate you opening up with us today and before we close maybe you can share a book recommendation with us. Has there been a book that’s been impactful in your growth and development?
My favorite book that has helped bring me alignment/balance is The Power of Now, a guide to spiritual enlightenment by Eckhart Tolle.

This book teaches you to live in the present, in the moment. So many times we have big future goals, but don’t enjoy the moments in between.

It also teaches you to let go of control. When you control the controllable (my favorite motto) you’re able to live a more peaceful life, growing with the flow.
