Meet Katasha Cathcart

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Katasha Cathcart . We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Katasha below.

Hi Katasha , so happy you were able to devote some time to sharing your thoughts and wisdom with our community. So, we’ve always admired how you have seemingly never let nay-sayers or haters keep you down. Can you talk to us about how to persist despite the negative energy that so often is thrown at folks trying to do something special with their lives?
Persisting despite nay-sayers can be very challenging at times. It’s nothing any person can get used to, but if you believe in their words you will never achieve your goals. That’s why I surround myself with positive people that are rooting for me to win. The family that I have created is like no other. They pick me up when I am feeling down, while giving me a pep talk to help me stand on my feet.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
I’m an entrepreneur with a passion for creating body care products for different skin types, as well as resin artwork, hence the title within my Logo “Where Beauty Meets Artistry”. My journey began after I planned my entire wedding. I wanted to keep creating but didn’t know what. So my oldest daughter suggested I create body butter, since I was already into making hair butter for personal use.

With the backing of my daughter and a few years of perfecting my craft, I started KatzKreeationz LLC. This brand symbolizes to me a strong woman who is not afraid of going after what she wants.

Fast forward to today, my brand consists of body butter, body lotion, lip balm, lipgloss, bangles and bracelets for children and adults, and resin coasters in different shapes and sizes. My focus shifted from hair butter to total body care and art.

From vendor-events to an online store-to setting up shop in front of a Beauty Supply Store. I want to give hope to anyone who has doubts about starting their own business one day. Without commitment you’ll never start, without consistency you’ll never finish!! This is my story….

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
The three skills that were most impactful in my journey were research, commitment, and asking for help when needed. Research helped me understand the market, competitors, and provided valuable insights, enabling me to make informed decisions. Commitment kept me focused, dedicated, and resilient through the ups and downs. Asking for help connected me with mentors, advisors, and peers who offered guidance and support. Combined, they provided a solid foundation for success in entrepreneurship.

The best advice I could give to someone just starting out in their entrepreneur journey is to research as much as you can and when you think you’re done, research more. Also, surround yourself with like minded people and get involved in entrepreneur lunches. Last piece of advice is NETWORK NETWORK NETWORK!!!

Any advice for folks feeling overwhelmed?
When I am feeling overwhelmed I have to take a step away from my business for a day or so. Your business will not go under if you don’t post for a day or more, your mental health is way more important than sales. I try not to work on my business 2 days out of the week. You never want the business that you created to feel like an actual job. Love what you do and do what you love is my motto.
