We recently connected with Kate Kuc and have shared our conversation below.
Kate, thank you so much for taking the time to share your lessons learned with us and we’re sure your wisdom will help many. So, one question that comes up often and that we’re hoping you can shed some light on is keeping creativity alive over long stretches – how do you keep your creativity alive?
Collecting paper scraps for my travel scrapbook and using my watercolor set on the go keeps my creativity alive when I am not working on larger painting projects. A traditional record of interest and experience nurtures my daily and long-term creativity. Reflection feels most natural when transcribed through colorful forms, allowing for fluidity of processing where all is true at once in hidden language.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
I exhibit my paintings in art exhibitions and sell art prints of my work. I recently had a solo show called “Planet Bunny” with a pop up print shop. For 2026, I would like to do many more in person events. I have had three solo shows all with very similar themes of play and color as psychological processing which absolves into otherworldly spaces, commonly inhabited by pink bunnies who are curious and brave.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
As I was building self esteem in my early 20s, apart from religion, painting gave me an outlet to practice being playful, open, and curious to new possibilities. It helped connect me to myself and showcase evidence of personal choice and decision making. My advice is to explore your passion to the fullest extent on a personal level. You will have to get back to me later on advice in the case of passion overlapping or being joined with capitalism.

Alright so to wrap up, who deserves credit for helping you overcome challenges or build some of the essential skills you’ve needed?
My partner, Ambiance. Her love and support is unwavering through my waves of self doubt, rejections, and uncertainty relating to career. My parents have also been a rock of support for my work ever since I was a child. I am very fortunate to have such a loving support system, and I would not be where I am today without them.
