We recently connected with Katherine Swanson and have shared our conversation below.
Katherine, first a big thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts and insights with us today. I’m sure many of our readers will benefit from your wisdom, and one of the areas where we think your insight might be most helpful is related to imposter syndrome. Imposter syndrome is holding so many people back from reaching their true and highest potential and so we’d love to hear about your journey and how you overcame imposter syndrome.
I think this is such a wonderful question because everyone I talk to that wants to do great things has had to overcome imposter syndrome.
For me personally, I look for the evidence that I’m great at what I do. I look at all the clients I’ve helped. I look at how many various ways I’m able to help transform my life and lives of others. I read my clients testimonials. I read the comments and messages I get from people and how much I’m helping them with what I’m sharing.
It’s completely normal to have imposter syndrome and my coach helped me reframe how I look at it. She told me that it’s a sign that I’m always analyzing every single detail of what I’m doing bc I want to be the best at what I do. That I’m always ready, willing & able to learn and grow.
I remind myself to never compare myself to others but rather take inspiration from everything around me. I remind myself that I’m exactly where I’m meant to be in this journey and that I’m doing a wonderful job.
We can easily forget to give ourselves credit for all the hard work we’re doing. I also find it incredibly helpful to celebrate my wins and the wins of my clients. It helps program my mind to remember how much I’m truly helping others and that I’m great at what I do.
Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
I’m happy to share a little about myself. I was a fashion designer, master seamstress & internationally published alternative model for many years. I used to mainly focus on making stage clothing for rockstars and did many various fashion shows.
In 2013 I had the rug pulled out from everything that I had work so hard for. My health was completely stripped away and with that everything I had worked so hard for. I was bedridden for most of the time for over a decade. I dealt with many health issues that I had seeming no way out of. I also had to fight for my life through multiple abusive relationships that almost took my life; too many times to count.
I’ve always been aware of my gifts as a healer and psychic medium but was always afraid of them when I was younger. I never felt like it was safe to talk about anything that I was experiencing. So I did my best to ignore them and pretend they weren’t there. There’s only so much you can do before your souls mission needs to be embodied.
In 2020, I finally decided that healing from the inside out was going to be my purpose full time along with helping others on their journey. And mind you I’ve always been interested and invested in healing, learning & growing but not to this level of commitment. This was me being all in and doing whatever it took to get me to where I wanted to be. And yes, I had been healing for years prior and had already healed through deeply traumatic experiences that taught me very intense life lessons. This was the year that I broke my cycle of abuse with domestic violence situations.
I decided it was time to fully embrace my gifts that I was born with and put them to good use. I was looking for like minded individuals and sought out healers, mentors & coaches to learn from and gain all the knowledge I could. Many lessons have been learned throughout these years and I’m thankful for all of the insight that I have now.
I’ll do my best to explain what I do as it ebbs and flows with each person I work with. I utilize multiple modalities that I’ve been trained in and continue my education in everyday. I like to utilize Quantum Energy Healing, Breathwork, Somatic Exercise, Yoga, NLP, Hypnosis, Emotion Code, Life & Spiritual Coaching, Meditation, Subliminals, Affirmations, Tapping, Journaling & anything else that intuitively comes in to be utilized. I’ve also created my own healing modality that I’ve been cultivating for years that I love using in my sessions as it always has wonderful immediate shifts in people’s lives.
It truly depends on what each individual person needs when they come to me. Sometimes it can be energetic blocks, mindset changes that need to be implemented, trapped trauma, emotions & energies that need to be released. Sometimes people have soul fragments that have splintered through traumatic events that need to be integrated. There can be past life experiences that were never cleared. There are generational trauma & karmic patterns that need to be addressed. There’s so many different things that I go through with my clients that I’d be talking about this for a while if I spelled it all out here.
These things can impact all areas of our lives without even realizing it. Everything is energy. So health, finances, business, leisure, our homes, safety/security, all of our relationships with co-workers, acquaintances, friends, family, significant others, etc. the list goes on.
I help my clients get to the root of what is causing dis-ease in their lives. The work I do dives deep as we need to, to experience the profound shifts we are looking for. I love helping everyone live a better life and assisting everyone ready to show up for themselves.
I offer different services at different price points so no matter what a persons budget is, there’s something for everyone. I’ve got free resources on my social media pages, in my group on Facebook & on my website. I’ve got a couple subscription services with my light code meditations & my Breathwork sessions. (Free sessions on my YouTube channel as well.) I’ve been in service to my community of Kansas City, MO by offering group Breath, Sound & Energy Healing sessions in a private salt water pool once a month. I also offer limited availability for 1:1 clients and are happy to create custom packages to meet your needs.
I’m really excited about my Breathwork subscription right now. If there’s one thing I would suggest people start with, it’s Breathwork. It helped me get off of all my medications and help keep my anxiety & stress in check. I think we can all agree that life has become stressful and overwhelming at times and it’s important that we have the tools to regulate our emotions and ground ourselves into some sense of safety and security. I love doing Breathwork out in nature for this…but it’s truly such a remarkable tool to have to better your life.
I’ve got new light code meditations scheduled to post each Wednesday at 3:30pm cst on my YouTube and look forward to adding much more content going forward. I’m also brainstorming ideas for more group healing opportunities and will announce it in my social media when they’re ready to launch.
I just want to reiterate that no matter what you’ve been through in life you are worthy of living a life you dream of. You deserve to be treated with respect & loved by those around you and by yourself ! You’re only one decision away from living an entirely new life that sets your soul on fire. I believe in you.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
The best things that I would start with is being able to regulate your nervous system, regulate your emotions & be able to release trauma in a safe & healthy way. If the world could do these things properly we’d be living in a much healthier place than we are now.
Journaling is a great way to process things and write out what needs to be said and expressed. Somatic exercises & Breathwork are wonderful for regulating your nervous system. Breathwork is also a wonderful way to regulate & release trapped emotions & trauma. Grounding out in nature is a wonderful way to help transmute heavy energies as well. Another is just being conscious in your everyday lives. Live with purpose and be mindful of how we are impacting ourselves and those around us. Meditation is wonderful as well but I know some people find it difficult to meditate. This is also why I create the artistic videos with meditation music as it helps me relax and calm my mind.
Also just start with one thing. Don’t over complicate it or make yourself feel overwhelmed with all the things. See what resonates with you and what you naturally gravitate towards. Everyone is different and will process things differently, just find what works best for you.
