Meet Kathryn Robinson

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Kathryn Robinson. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Kathryn below.

Kathryn , so good to have you with us today. We’ve always been impressed with folks who have a very clear sense of purpose and so maybe we can jump right in and talk about how you found your purpose?

I didn’t find my purpose at the height of success—I found it in the fallout. I spent years chasing what I thought was purpose: the perfect job, the perfect body, the perfectly curated life, all with the glitz and glam to match. But behind the scenes, I was burnt out, breaking down, and battling body dysmorphia, disordered eating, and a constant fear of not being enough. When I hit rock bottom—emotionally, spiritually, and physically after an emergency spine surgery—I finally got still enough to hear what God had been whispering all along, that I was made for more than this hustle for worthiness; I am here to shine and help women do the same. God designed and gave me my purpose.

That moment changed everything. I stopped striving and started surrendering. I realized that every part of my story—the pressure, the pain, even the parts I once wanted to hide—was preparation. God wasn’t punishing me; I had free will to make certain decisions. But God used what I went through to position me. He took my burnout and turned it into a breakthrough. He took my shame and turned it into a calling. I was never meant to fit into the world’s idea of “success.” I was meant to build a new space for women like me—women who’ve been overlooked, overworked, and underestimated—to heal, shine, and step into their God-given identity.

Now, everything I do through NOVA is rooted in that purpose: to remind women that they’re not alone, they’re not broken, and they don’t have to prove their worth. They’re already worthy, because God says they are. And every woman deserves the space to live freely in their element. My story isn’t perfect, but it’s purposeful. And if it helps just one woman feel seen, known, and empowered, then it’s worth every step.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

As the founder of NOVA, I believe wellness isn’t one-size-fits-all, and it’s not just about what you put in your body. True wellness is multidimensional. It’s the internal support of clinically backed supplements designed to work with your unique biology and the external support of real community, sisterhood, and spiritual connection. I started NOVA because I was tired of seeing wellness marketed to women as if we all have the same body, the same story, or the same needs. Our products—like Breakthrough, our flagship adaptogenic drink mix—are designed to meet every woman where she’s at. They’re award-winning, science-backed, and formulated to support energy, hormones, stress, and the root causes that hold us back from shining.

NOVA is more than supplements—it’s a movement. We’re building The NOVA(Verse): a first-of-its-kind membership and app where women can experience real community, exclusive content, expert panels, and ongoing support that goes way beyond wellness trends. This August, we’re also launching Flourish, a supplement developed specifically for women navigating metabolism, weight management, and gut health, with compassion, not shame. Everything we create is built on our belief that wellness should be as diverse as this world: spiritually grounded, radically inclusive, and deeply empowering.

We’re here for the woman who’s done with aesthetic wellness and diet culture, who wants to feel good in her body without compromise, and who knows that healing is better when you don’t have to do it alone. NOVA is your space to be seen, supported, and celebrated—for everything you are, and everything you’re still becoming.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

The most impactful and hardest skill in my journey—hands down—has been learning to fully rely on God. Not just when things fall apart, but in every decision, every pivot, and every new idea. I’ve had to surrender the illusion of control and trust that Jesus is leading, even when I can’t see the whole map. Prayer isn’t my backup plan—it’s my strategy. And if you’re just starting out, I’d say this: don’t just invite God into your work—build your work around Him. You don’t need to have it all figured out to be faithful. You just need to say “yes” and take the next step.

The second quality that’s shaped me most is a deep sense of justice. I’ve always had a fire in me to advocate for all unseen people, underestimated, unrepresented, or unheard, especially Black and Brown women. It’s what drives every decision I make at NOVA, from how we formulate our products to how we show up in spaces where women have historically been left out. If you feel that pull, too, lean into it. Let your convictions guide your creativity. Ask who’s not in the room—and build something that makes space for them.

And finally, I’ve never stopped learning. I thrive on information (and rabbit holes)—whether it’s biotech, feminist theology, or ancient history. I think staying curious is one of the most powerful things you can do. You don’t have to master everything overnight but keep asking questions. Keep evolving. It’s how you stay grounded and visionary—and it’s how you stay ready when God calls you to do something bold.

One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?

Absolutely—collaboration is at the heart of empowerment. I’d love to partner with other women founders, especially those who are passionate about expanding what wellness looks like—whether that’s through science, storytelling, or a shared faith in Christ. I’m especially eager to learn from and collaborate with women who can help NOVA better reflect the rich diversity of the world we serve—culturally, spiritually, and experientially.

As we build The NOVA(Verse)—our growing community of multidimensional women seeking wellness and wholeness—I’m looking for voices, educators, experts, and innovators who want to create meaningful impact together. Whether you’re in the health space, faith space, or anywhere in between, I’d love to connect. You can reach me at kathryn@thenovaelement.com, or through our site thenovaelement.com. Let’s build something that truly honors every woman’s body, journey, and divine calling!
