Meet Katie Enright

We recently connected with Katie Enright and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Katie, so excited to talk about all sorts of important topics with you today. The first one we want to jump into is about being the only one in the room – for some that’s being the only person of color or the only non-native English speaker or the only non-MBA, etc Can you talk to us about how you have managed to be successful even when you were the only one in the room that looked like you?
Fostering and sustaining self-confidence has played a pivotal role in my journey. When you have a strong belief in yourself, it naturally shields you from the potential negative impacts of external factors, such as being the only one who looks like you in the room. It’s important to resist the temptation to compare yourself to others in that room; the only valid comparison is the growth you’ve achieved from your past self. Approaching any space with this mindset reveals the surprising kindness that often exists. I firmly believe in the principle that we attract what we radiate. Therefore, maintaining an optimistic outlook can significantly influence the energy you receive from others. Try it out! You may be surprised by what you discover.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
Absolutely! I’m the founder of Lavinia, a cannabis powered sexual wellness company that’s all about breaking taboos and enhancing intimacy. What we started with was a game-changer—THC and CBD-infused lube—but now, we’re taking things to a whole new level. We’ve expanded our product line to include THC sex gummies, sleep gummies, and targeted lube applicators while working on developing several other exciting offerings.

What makes what I do so special to me is the journey that led me here. Fun fact: I was once on the verge of becoming a nun! It might seem like a world away from the cannabis sexual wellness space, but growing up in an environment where sex was a major taboo taught me the real value of helping people understand their desires. It’s not just about spicing up your sex life; it’s about a more fulfilling life overall. You can check out all our products at www.ohlavinia.com!

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Reflecting on my journey, I’d say effective communication has been key. Whether it’s in your professional or personal life, being able to express yourself clearly is a game-changer. Prioritization is another big one; doing things in the right order ensures you don’t miss a beat. And, of course, having mentors who’ve got your back is priceless. To those just starting, my advice is to work on your communication skills across the board, prioritize tasks thoughtfully, and seek out mentors with a clear plan in mind, so you make the most of their (and your) valuable time.

Any advice for folks feeling overwhelmed?
When I’m feeling overwhelmed, I’ve got this go-to strategy—I work out. It’s not just about staying fit; the mental health benefits are real. Taking some time for physical activity, whether it’s a run, a yoga session, or whatever you enjoy, can do wonders for clearing your mind and managing stress. It’s a simple yet effective approach that has become my go-to remedy.
