Katrina , we’re thrilled to have you on our platform and we think there is so much folks can learn from you and your story. Something that matters deeply to us is living a life and leading a career filled with purpose and so let’s start by chatting about how you found your purpose.
I found my purpose from paying attention to what I was always looking forward to doing and what made me get excited! I am always excited to plan any event from the beginning to the end. Picking out the perfect plates, napkins, and telling a story or celebrating someone’s answered prayers is how I knew it was my purpose to be a cookbook author and party planner!

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
I am an award winning food blogger, cookbook author, and party planner. I love cooking, entertaining, and decorating! I have won multiple awards for several of my recipes on my blog kmariekitchen.com. I teach cooking and entertaining classes at local library’s in Birmingham, AL. I love helping families create memories through meals and celebrate special events in style.

I have two cookbooks that are available for purchase on my website kmariekitchen.com and Amazon. I have 2 award winning desserts at multiple Piggly Wiggly grocery stores in Birmingham, AL.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
I feel the three qualities that have been most impactful in my journey are consistent, creativity, committed.

What’s been one of your main areas of growth this year?
In the last 12 months I have started selling my 2 award winning desserts in 2 Piggly Wiggly grocery stores which increased to 4 stores. I am so thankful for this opportunity and looking to keep expanding my desserts in other stores.
