Meet Katrina Martinez

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Katrina Martinez a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Katrina , really happy you were able to join us today and we’re looking forward to sharing your story and insights with our readers. Let’s start with the heart of it all – purpose. How did you find your purpose?

I always knew my passion and gift was in helping others and urging them to see their potential, but what brought me to this purposeful journey feels like it’s been divinely orchestrated. I graduated from college with a degree in Political Science, but have now been immersed in the holistic health field for over 10 years. Less than a year after graduating, I was a speaker at the United Nations in a first of its kind internationally live streamed event, and a week later I was in the hospital receiving emergency brain surgery to repair a ruptured vascular malformation. Everything changed after that. With no answers from Western medical professionals as to why this near death experience occurred, I turned to holistic health practitioners, namely a flower essence practitioner, who gave me answers I didn’t even know I was looking for. I discovered that my lack of confidence and commitment to being a people pleaser was more detrimental than I ever knew was possible. It was then that I made the connection between emotional matters and how they can manifest physically when ignored. It was then that I realized the importance of having emotional wellbeing goals versus just career goals or fitness goals. While I did not necessarily pivot towards a career as a holistic health practitioner right after that, years later I started to connect the dots that after every major life transition I experienced, flower essences were able to bring me to a place of inner peace and calm that I never experienced before, especially during a time when I could’ve experienced the exact opposite, having felt like the transition rocked my world.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

I am a flower essence practitioner that provides 1 on 1 flower essence therapy sessions as well as a line of flower remedies available for purchase. Flower essences are subtle but powerful vibrational medicines that work on an energetic level to address thoughts, perspective, and emotions. They uniquely address emotional wellbeing. While they are not remedies to fix physical health issues, they can address root causes that may be contributing to the physical issue manifesting. I like to compare how they work as a vibrational/frequency medicine to how music functions the same way. For example, if we want to get hyped up to go out to meet some friends we may put on a specific song. If we want to focus while doing work we’ll put on a different one, and if we want to cry we may choose another song. Though we are not ingesting the music, we are being affected by the frequency of the music in very particular ways. Flower essences work the same- as each flower has its own frequency that works as a healing code to very specific emotional matters.

There are over 100 different flower essences to choose from so they can work very beautifully when mixed and matched together to address each person’s very unique emotional landscape. Flower essences address a huge range of emotional themes spanning confidence, career path, mother wounds, sexuality, trust, fear, sensitivity, childhood, disordered eating, and so, so much more. Working 1 on 1 with me through flower essence therapy allows us to find 3-5 flower essences for you to work with during a 1 month period that really speak to melting away the very specific patterns that have kept you stuck for a long time, while also nurturing your positive qualities which will allow you to elevate your personal frequency.

I also created a line of flower remedies, with each remedy being made up of a predetermined blend of 3-4 different flower essences. I currently have 3 different blends. One is called Confidence, for addressing your confidence in your appearance. One is called Following Your Unique Path, for the confidence to pave a path towards your dreams, and the third one is called Developing Your Spiritual Gifts, which is made to help you recognize the unique ways in which we are all spiritually and psychically gifted.

I have 3 new blends coming out which will be for addressing grief, feeling supported, and feeling accomplished. The name of each blend is still in the works.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

I think 3 of the most important aspects of my journey have been finding mentors, learning how to pivot, and saying no to doing things I don’t want to do.

While we are all unique, at the end of the day no idea is original, but the way we bring that idea to life will be. It will always be super helpful to seek out those who have walked a similar path as you or whose career path you admire to guide you along yours. Whether this be as an intern, apprentice, employee, hiring them as a coach, or taking up any offerings they have, know that others are put in your path to inspire you and encourage you, and you don’t have to reinvent the wheel, just add your special sauce to it.

Learning how to pivot is such an important skill that comes easier with practice. Everyone is so busy living their own lives that no one will notice all your self deemed failures, and the ones that do, probably don’t even like themselves so they’re impossible to win over anyway. What does get noticed is when you finally succeed. One of the best pieces of advice given to me as a young adult was “You’re going to fail, so you might as well fail fast.” Try out all your ideas!

This last piece of advice sounds like a no brainer, but if you really sit down and think about it, how many things are you doing or have committed to that you don’t actually want to be doing? Of course there are things we don’t want to do that have to be done, like doing laundry or something like that for example, but we want to wear clean clothes right? What I’m talking about is doing things that get you further away from the vision of how you want to be living your life. This usually has to do with doing things or even working for other people that you don’t feel invested in.

How would you describe your ideal client?

My ideal client is someone who is aware of the areas they feel they could improve upon, or at least curious to find out, whether it be confidence, trouble with setting boundaries, being a people pleaser, being shy, or whatever the case may be. Someone who is real with themselves and genuinely wants to solve the problem. Someone who is tired of standing in their own way. Flower essences are the perfect extra push that this person may need. This magic comes from the incredible healing power of nature. Yes, we have this medicine available to us, and there is thousands of anecdotal evidence from around the world from people who have found success with this vibrational/frequency medicine!  Just think of how a bouquet of flowers can brighten your day. Now imagine an intentional, medicinal dose of that feeling!
