Hi Kay, really happy you were able to join us today and we’re looking forward to sharing your story and insights with our readers. Let’s start with the heart of it all – purpose. How did you find your purpose?

I’ve always been hyper-focused on finding my purpose, even from a young age. I think this stems from growing up in the church, where I was conditioned to seek a clear purpose. Although I’ve since left the church, my determination to fully understand myself and my passion for personal development have never faded. I used to believe that purpose was a single role or a fixed way of being—a constant state or a final destination. I didn’t realize it’s something much broader, a dynamic “movement” that goes beyond just what you can “do” or achieve.

Being a multi-passionate individual with a wide range of varied skills, I found it challenging to define my purpose or fit myself into a box based on my initial ideas of what purpose should be. It wasn’t until recently that I began to understand what my purpose truly is. I believe it took me so long to “figure it out” because I needed to live more life, gain diverse experiences, and work through various situations to see how they all come together to support a bigger picture and a greater purpose.

To me, purpose is an overarching mission and a hopeful vision rather than a finite accomplishment. I also believe that a purpose should coexist with and support others’ purposes rather than be at the top or the #1 expert in a field. Sure, you can have goals and dreams to be the best at something, but I think those aspirations are different from what one’s purpose is. For me, finding my purpose took a lot of time and challenges to gain the clarity I have now. My purpose is to help heal entrepreneurship and pave the way for future business owners, preparing them for the evolving landscape of entrepreneurship. The “how” of achieving this—what it looks like or means—will continue to grow and evolve as I do. The fun part is the journey of figuring out how I want to write this story, so to speak.

As for the process of arriving at this understanding, I had to get really clear on who I am outside of what I produce or “do,” and beyond how others perceive me. I had to truly know myself and make room for parts of myself that I had overlooked or purposely ignored. For me, this meant going through a significant healing journey and reflecting deeply, including practices like meditation, journaling, BodyIntuitive therapy, general therapy, and developing my spiritual practice, to name a few. I became comfortable with who I am, knowing and loving myself from that place first.

Another key element in discovering my purpose was letting go of my ego and the external identities I had clung to so tightly. Often, this is referred to as an “ego death,” but I prefer to think of it as embracing transformation and stepping (or sometimes falling) into the unknown of who you are becoming, rather than a part of you “dying.” It’s definitely uncomfortable, but once I became clear on who I am and what I’m most passionate about, I could see how my unique pieces—my skills, experiences, and passions—fit together and what connected them all.

One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned from my years of searching for my purpose is that life, living, and even your purpose should be guided by what brings you joy. Looking back, I wish I hadn’t taken everything so seriously while I was on this journey.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?

As a kind of “MacGyver” of business strategy, I’m focused on empowering creative women CEOs and business owners to build sustainable, thriving businesses. My unique background in technical theater, event planning, and strategic business expertise allows me to offer personalized, intuitive strategies that align with my clients’ visions and values. What excites me most about my work is helping women transform not only their businesses but also themselves, helping them to reach the next level of where they want to go and who they want to become.

Currently, my focus is on guiding creative women entrepreneurs who are ready to step into the unknown to discover their next level of success. To support more entrepreneurs on this journey, I’ve created a Free Creative CEO Quiz (link: https://www.novapricity.com/what-type-of-creative-ceo-are-you), designed to help them uncover their unique business style and strengths. This quiz is a great starting point for understanding how to leverage creativity and intuition to build a business that truly reflects who they are.

I’m always exploring new ways to support my clients, from workshops to new resources that help them grow in alignment with their values. I invite anyone interested to take the quiz and join a community of creative entrepreneurs who are building meaningful and impactful businesses.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

I think the most important skill has been knowing and trusting my own intuition. It’s crucial to learn when to block out other voices—even those of people who may “know” more than you—and to trust that little inner knowing, sometimes even against logic and reasoning. You can spend a few minutes each day by yourself, with no distractions, simply noticing how you feel and breathe. There’s no need to change anything, but don’t shy away from whatever comes up. This practice helps you create a sense of safety within your own body and mind over time.

Another key aspect is understanding and embracing the difference between the skills you excel at and those you’re good at but that drain your energy or take up too much time. Focus as much as you can on what you do best, and whenever possible, team up with others, delegate, or find ways to handle the other tasks. If money is tight, get creative with how and when you tackle those tasks that aren’t your strong suit, even if you have to do them yourself.

Lastly, be mindful of tasks that aren’t actually moving the needle or bringing you results. Limit or eliminate these from your agenda. You only have so many hours in the day, so once you identify what’s most important to move you forward, TAKE ACTION. You can plan and strategize all day—trust me, I know—but if you’re not implementing anything and just waiting for the right time or perfection, it will take much longer to get where you want to go, or it might never happen at all. Even taking baby steps forward is better than hoping you’ll be ready for a big leap that may or not present itself.

One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?

I’m all about creating community over competition, and I’m always open to growing my network. I love connecting people and playing business matchmaker whenever I can. I’m eager to collaborate with like-minded business owners, women CEOs, creatives, podcast hosts, and event hosts who are passionate about empowering women business owners. I’m particularly interested in partnering with those who lead with their creativity (or intuition)—whether in their roles as leaders or within their businesses—those who are anti-hustle and focused on doing business differently, and those who are wanting to embrace the full embodiment of what it means to be an entrepreneur.

If you’re a podcast host looking for a guest, an event organizer planning a workshop or panel, or a business owner interested in co-creating content or hosting a joint venture, I’d love to hear from you! I’m always looking for fresh, innovative ways to bring value to the creative and entrepreneurial community.

Feel free to reach out through my website www.novapricity.com or connect with me on social media. I’m always open to discussing new ideas and seeing how we can support each other’s growth.
