Meet kay_zeee

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Kay_zeee. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Kay_zeee below.

Hi Kay_zeee, we’re so appreciative of you taking the time to share your nuggets of wisdom with our community. One of the topics we think is most important for folks looking to level up their lives is building up their self-confidence and self-esteem. Can you share how you developed your confidence?
I chose to talk about self confidence & self esteem for this feature. Developing self confidence can take many forms, and also years to achieve. For me, one way I have been able to stay secure & grounded in myself was by practicing positive self talk. I know that can sound cheesy and redundant, because that is what I used to think too. I would actually roll my eyes at people who would give me the same advice. Until one day, I had decided that my current situation/ viewpoint was just no longer cutting it for me. I didn’t want to focus so heavily on the negativity in my life, or to experience the same situations, over and over again, that did not positively benefit my life.

One way I was able to make that change was to make an active, conscious choice, to change my mental thinking, my viewpoint, and outside perspective: not just of myself but of others as well. It definitely was not easy & it had to take a lot of practice and mental effort, not only in my choice of words but to be able to integrate a positive self viewpoint into my daily life.

I have always usually gotten great support from family, friends, and other outside sources.

But for me most of the time the opinions of others really didn’t matter to me, whether it’s positive or negative. for example, If I felt negative internally, then that is what my outside world reflected back to me. Even when I was achieving really good things, I wouldn’t totally accept that for myself because I had a negative mental outlook. I was more likely to believe the people who would only tell me bad, harmful or negative things about myself, over people who truly saw my worth and value. I had to learn to not accept mistreatment or abuse from others just because I was “used to it” or had gone through something similar etc. There was a time in my life where I went through a long period of deep depression & grief and it affected a lot of areas in my life outside of the connections & opportunities I lost.

I had to learn to be my own best friend, cheerleader, therapist, and support system, because literally no one else was going to do that for me. I was on my own, and in order for me to truly benefit more positivity & gain more enjoyment in my own life, I had to learn how to love myself. To love all parts of myself, even the parts I hated or wanted to change. I could still want to change a lot things about myself and also still love the person who I am today that hasn’t changed yet. I had to learn to love all the stages of myself : future, current, and past.

Practicing positive self talk can help to rewire patterns in our brains that maybe we aren’t even aware are there, that can develop over time through negative experiences, traumas, certain conditions or just through learned behaviors from other sources outside of ourselves. There were times in my life were I would be awarded or had achieved something good and I would receive kind words or appreciation from others; but if my own mindset was more pessimistic & dark then I really couldn’t believe them, or rather, I chose not to believe in my own achievements because somewhere deep down, I had learned that it was a bad or negative thing to be recognized for any sort of skill or talents. To basically dim or not shine my own light in order to make others around me more comfortable with themselves. I literally had to train my brain all over again to be able to accept and truly love myself, so that way others can recognize that too, not only in me, but hopefully for themselves and others around them, as well.

In my experience positive self talk or even affirmations has been able to help me make certain changes in my life that I have wanted. It has helped me to be more open & accepting of not just myself, but of others around me. Building self-esteem and confidence is not a one & done thing though, having self confidence is kind of like having a plant you need to water everyday; if there is no water than that plant can not grow. There are always going to be tougher days ahead & unseen struggles to face but incorporating a few positive daily habits, even if they are just mental ones, can have an effect on how you show up in the world and to others.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
Right now Im not really sure what my story is, to be completely honest. I like to help advocate for people or communities who are, or have had gone through tough/ negative experiences, because I myself have had to navigate my own way through some tough situations. It can be easy for me to relate to others and I like to share my experiences both good & bad through creative expression like on my social medias and website.

I have a lot of avenues of interest I like to be involved in or pursue , from offering personal tarot readings for entertainment purposes & life perspective on anything of that esoteric, to photography/ videography, along with editing & business marketing tools, and even a little philanthropy here and there when I can.

I like to help others and the communities I am involved in, but I can also have some isolated opinions, viewpoints & unique experiences on certain topics too. I also just like to create art, pictures & videos just for the sake of being creative because I genuinely love the concept of getting to express oneself through artistic expression.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
1: to not give up on yourself, even if everyone else has.

2: to learn how to truly love and accept who you are.

3: that the only opinion that really matters or can make a difference is your own. to learn how to be a free & independent thinker for yourself and not for others.

One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?
yes I would love to collaborate with others, either in photography, videography, social media influence, business related endeavors, and or community outreach or support. I love pretty much anything that has to do with art, creative expression, or positive community support. I have had over 20+ years of experience as a dancer so I also love to get involved with anything like the creative arts and even music. I worked closely with professionals in the past and I have done numerous live performances so I can be very versatile in my experience as a creative person.

I feel like I can work, or collaborate, with just about anyone in those fields. I would just like to say though to anyone wanting to potentially work or collaborate with me to reach out to my business email : [email protected]

I have had like 4-5 offers from brands reach out to my personal email for sponsorship or business inquires but I unfortunately had to declined their offers to collaborate, due to their unprofessional nature of their business conduct or through email scams. I usually have to go through a vetting process with anyone who contacts me for business related topics. I am very open to collaborating but I would need any future offers to be more serious, secure, and professional in their conduct when communicating & engaging in business offers if they would like to work with me.

I just created the email listed above and updated my contact information on my social media due to those reasons.

One reason I like to working with this group here is because they communicate more effectively than just sending out random direct messages on social media. So once again, thank you for working with me.
I am very honored to be featured again.
