Meet Kayla Gladney

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Kayla Gladney a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Kayla, we’re thrilled to have you on our platform and we think there is so much folks can learn from you and your story. Something that matters deeply to us is living a life and leading a career filled with purpose and so let’s start by chatting about how you found your purpose.

How I found my purpose is from the adversity I’ve endured . As the woman I am today , I had to find my creative aspects in my field of artistry through hurt and pain . Hurt and pain fuels my creativity. When I have a makeup client in my chair and I am going through a tough time in my life , I am going to convert that negative energy into my makeup artistry and ensuring the product of my creativity result into making my client beautiful..

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

My career path wasn’t easy , I’ve learned so much about myself not only as a makeup artist but a WOMAN . I became more opened minded .

Not only I do makeup (The Kayla Affect ) , I am also a plus size model. If anyone wants to collaborate on a editorial project ,please ask for my email.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

The three skills I’ve learned in journey is precision, large attention span to detail , and also making sure my artistry tells a story.

To close, maybe we can chat about your parents and what they did that was particularly impactful for you?

The most impacting thing my parent did for me is to help me promote my brand and giving me advice on how to be a walking billboard.
