Meet KayLee Merrick

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful KayLee Merrick a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

KayLee, so good to have you with us today. We’ve always been impressed with folks who have a very clear sense of purpose and so maybe we can jump right in and talk about how you found your purpose?

When my husband was deployed, I found myself searching for a bigger purpose with my time. I had always dreamed of opening my own business, and that moment of uncertainty became the spark that pushed me to finally pursue it. That’s how Impact Nutrition came to life. My goal is to help people feel better from the inside out and to create an environment that encourages progress, not perfection.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

I want to be remembered as someone who led with purpose, uplifted others, and left my mark through kindness, creativity, and consistency. I try to do that in every interaction that people have with us. We specialize in healthy nutrition and education. We offer a variety of supplements on the go, at home, and education to go with it! We are Herbalife and are proud to be a leader in the supplement industry.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

1 – People-First Mindset

From day one, I’ve built Impact Nutrition on connection. My biggest source of new clients has always been word of mouth — because people feel genuinely cared for when they walk in our doors.

2 – Creative Branding & Marketing Vision

I’ve consistently tried to make Impact stand out with fun, seasonal drinks, creative names, and engaging social media (like Wellness Wednesdays, BOGO 1/2 Fridays, and limited-edition drinks).

3 – Persistence & Adaptability

I have learned, adapted, and kept moving forward even when things weren’t simple — and that resilience is what turned my dream into a reality.

Advice for others early in their journey:

Focus on relationships, not transactions.

Build your business around genuine service and connection — people can feel the difference, and it’ll create loyalty money can’t buy!

Stay creative and have fun with it.

Keep showing up.

Every small step matters. You won’t have all the answers at the start (no one does!), but consistency and a willingness to learn will take you farther than talent alone.
