Meet KC Mack

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful KC Mack a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Hi KC , really happy you were able to join us today and we’re looking forward to sharing your story and insights with our readers. Let’s start with the heart of it all – purpose. How did you find your purpose?

I found my purpose at the intersection of who I’ve always been and who my students needed me to be.

As a kid, I was the class clown who got in trouble for talking too much, but in college a teacher told me, “You should try stand‑up,” helped me build my first website, and flipped that “too much personality” into a calling. In the classroom, especially in special education, I saw how laughter could reach students on days when lessons and lectures couldn’t, and I realized my gift wasn’t just being funny—it was using humor to make people feel seen and safe.

When my comedy and my teaching started telling the same story—through “Life with Mr. Mack,” the Bored Teachers Comedy Tour, and keynotes about burnout—that’s when it clicked: my purpose is to lead with laughter so educators and students remember why they started in the first place.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

Hey, I’m Kason “KC Mack” Jones (@kcmackfunny), a prior special education teacher from Lake Highlands Junior High in Texas. Who moonlights as an international stand-up comedian on the Bored Teachers Comedy Tour. By day, I turn classroom chaos into teachable moments for my students; by night, I hit stages worldwide delivering keynotes like “Lessons in Laughter,” hosting the Pour Teachers podcast, and creating viral “Life with Mr. Mack” videos that have racked up over 75 million views—making teachers everywhere feel seen and less burned out.

What Makes It Exciting

What fires me up most is blending my two worlds: using comedy born from real special ed stories to connect with 500,000+ educators live on tour over the past five years, plus massive online engagement at 112% rates across my 168K followers (Instagram 60.6K, TikTok 29K, Facebook 79K). It’s special because humor isn’t just punchlines—it’s a lifeline that reminds teachers they’re not alone in the trenches, sparking breakthroughs where lectures can’t reach.

Brand Highlights:

My brand is all about authentic teacher life: raw, relatable riffs like “I hate it here” moments, dance battles on stage, and content that flips frustration into fuel—think viral reels, student collabs, and even screenwriting a teacher burnout movie. Folks should know I’m still in the classroom full-time, committed to my kids while touring nonstop; booking for keynotes, custom shows, or collabs goes through Comedy4Teachers.com or my team at The Link Agency.

Upcoming News:

Check out all my teacher relatable products at comedy4teachers.com/store. We just left Texas last month but we will be back soon. I’m always keynote speaking for different schools and districts throughout the country especially my home state Texas. If you’re in need of a keynote experience to make you come back for more, book me today.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

Looking back, three qualities were game-changers in my journey from class clown to touring comedian and teacher.
Relatable Storytelling

Pulling real classroom chaos—like wild kid stories or teacher shortages—into organic comedy that hits home every time; it’s what fueled my viral “Life with Mr. Mack” series to 75M+ views. Early on, a college teacher spotted it in me and pushed me to start. To develop it, journal daily mishaps without forcing jokes—let them “write themselves” through observation, then test on small audiences like students or open mics.

Resilience and Balance:

Staying anchored in special ed teaching through COVID cancellations and tour hits, never ditching the classroom because that’s my “best material” goldmine. It kept me grounded while comedy exploded. Build this by committing to one core passion (like teaching) as your fuel source—treat setbacks as story fodder, not stop signs, and prioritize routines that recharge without burning out.

Relationship-Building Humor:

Not taking myself too seriously, using laughs to create inclusive “inside jokes” with students and audiences, turning tension into trust and motivation. This connected me to 500K+ live viewers on the Bored Teachers Tour. Hone it early by practicing light-hearted rants in safe spaces (class, friends), focusing on empathy over ego—get feedback on what makes people feel seen, and weave it into every interaction.

Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?

I love collaborating with my people, my Texas people and comedians. Whether it’s fellow educators turning burnout into punchlines, brands like resorts or snack companies (looking at you, Pringles) wanting viral teacher content, or event planners needing a keynote that leaves ‘em laughing and motivated—let’s make magic.
Ideal Partners

• Texas-based schools, districts, or teacher groups for custom keynotes and shows—especially those craving “Lessons in Laughter” to recharge staff.

• Comedians or content creators on the Bored Teachers vibe, ready to co-create reels, podcasts like Pour Teachers, or tour openers.

• Lifestyle brands (teacher swag, edtech, travel) that get relatable humor—think product drops or sponsored “Life with Mr. Mack” series.
