We recently connected with KC Williams and have shared our conversation below.
KC, we’re thrilled to have you on our platform and we think there is so much folks can learn from you and your story. Something that matters deeply to us is living a life and leading a career filled with purpose and so let’s start by chatting about how you found your purpose.
Growing up a PK (preacher’s kid), I learned quickly how to multitask and/or wear multiple hats. In wearing multiple hats, I had to sing in the choir and on the praise team, usher, play the drums occasionally, help clean up the church, work on events etc. Being a ‘busy body’ and always in ‘grown folks business,’ what was given to me as a task became fun.
In multitasking and wearing multiple hats at such a young age, I’d began to develop a mature attitude allowing me to be in rooms a child or teenage should not have been in. Many trusted in my many gifts and that pushed me to continue doing the best I could with what I was given. That then developed passion and in my passion I found my purpose…and that was dealing and/or working hands on with people.
A scripture comes to mind, Ecclesiastes 9:10, “Whatever your hands find to do, do it with all of your might…” and I have lived by the scripture which became my business motto and now all I do professionally, you’ll see, is dealing with people hands on.
After really applying the said scripture to my personal life, purpose then slapped me right in the face making it hard for me to deny what my true calling was on Earth…and that is working with people; “Creative solutions for a universale prestige,” the business motto for my company, Kenneth Craig Worldwide, LLC.
Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
Born Kenneth Craig Williams, Jr., and widely known as KC, I believe that I am one of the hardest working business men of this generation with a great report follow. From working year-round with award-winning artists to planning some of the hottest special events, I am a man always on the move.
I am the Creative Director and Founder of Doin’ It Big 4 God Productions and parent company, Kenneth Craig Worldwide, LLC. Through these platforms I specialize in creative direction and consulting services where I’ve executed GRAMMY, Dove, Stellar, CMA, BET, Soul Train, and Rhythm of Gospel Award-winning artist management. It is said that I am a master event planner, interior designer, fashion consultant, and makeup artist. I have worked in the said creative fields for nearly eighteen years, so I presume what others say about me is true, “…he’s a master at what he does!”
Nominated four times by various Fortune 500 CEO’s in 2021, I again was nominated in 2022 for three Dallas ADMIN AWARDS and left a Finalist. The ADMIN AWARDS is the administrative profession’s highest honor, widely known as the ‘Academy Awards for Admins.’ I started the New Year off as a requested Judge and Award Presenter for the 2023 Houston ADMIN AWARDS. Expected to be a Judge and award Presenter for the 2023 Dallas ADMIN AWARDS hosted in November, additionally I have been asked to host a newly added segment to the awards show, “LIVE on the Red Carpet at the ADMIN AWARDS 2023”. In 2019 I was interviewed on the CBN News network; Studio 5 Show, where I was listed as Dallas’ Rising Star and also landed 2 roles on NBC’s returning tv series, “Chicago Justice,” FOX’s “EMPIRE,” and “The Dr. Phil Show” where I got to show off a bit of my acting skills.
Known as “Mr. Worldwide,” a jet-setter and master networker, I have had the distinguished honor and privilege to work with famed clientele to include: Chrisette Michele, Devon Franklin, Karen Clark-Sheard, Crystal Aikin, The Clark Sisters, Earl Bynum, Kierra Sheard-Kelly, Shane&Shawn of Kangaroos (ROOS) Shoe Brand, Hope For Women Magazine, Tim Bowman, Jr., Tonya Baker, The Potter’s House Dallas and Karew Records to name a few.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Three important qualities or skills that were most impactful in my journey are: Self Acceptance, Passion/Drive and Organizational Skills.
I’ve learned on this LONG journey that if you don’t grow into your most authentic self, you will turn into whomever and whatever others expect you to be. There you will find yourself unhappy, miserable, struggling to find your true purpose and identity and most important, self hate.
When you accept yourself for who you are and where you are in life at the current moment, you’re able to see life a little clearer than someone who doesn’t.
Understanding your passion or drive will ultimately feed you. You’ll hunger to grow daily and to be the best person you were created to be. And in that passion/drive you find solutions and other ways to better not only yourself or brand but the world in general.
Having an organized life with good to great organizational skills is IMPORTANT. In life, we can become so easily overwhelmed, but when we have a sense of organization it shows in all you do.
Before we go, any advice you can share with people who are feeling overwhelmed?
Becoming overwhelmed with life in general brings stress and exhaustion. I live in a very ‘structured’ bubble meaning, I am UBERLY organized. I keep a notepad or sticky notes on me 24/7 that way I can jot down what I need to at any given moment so I am not forgetting anything. I also try to relieve my brain from extra stress of that I can not fix or control. Additionally, I am a music connoisseur. I listen to music 24/7; which helps clear my mind and it keeps me in a ‘free space.’
I personally believe we become overwhelmed because we’re doing one of three things: taking on more than we can chew, we are not organized in our personal lives or we worry about things we have no control over.
Grab yourself a stress ball, chew on some sugar free gummy bears or vibe to so music when you’re feeling a little overwhelmed, I promise it will help.
