Meet Keen Khalid

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Keen Khalid. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Keen, so good to have you with us today. We’ve always been impressed with folks who have a very clear sense of purpose and so maybe we can jump right in and talk about how you found your purpose?
First let’s start with defining purpose. . .pur·pose – noun – the reason for which something is done or created or for which something exists. By way of that definition; I’d like to say that my purpose was always inside of me or apart of who I am.

I believe my purpose is to inspire. To show others that there’s more to life, than the mundane, and the made up restrictions on what you’re capable of; or how to express yourself creatively.

I want to show others what freedom looks like, or at least what fighting for freedom looks like.

I “found” this purpose inside myself. It’s like an energy that continues to knock on my heart.

SO did I find this purpose or did it find me?

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
Hi I’m Keen and I am an artist first. All in all I consider myself an all around artist. I sing, model, dance, paint, act, design, etc. I am mostly known for my modeling work. What sets me apart from others is my creativity and mind. Since the early years of my life I’ve always felt futuristic and years ahead creatively. Currently gearing up to drop some music and you know September fashion week 24′ is coming up, lot’s of surprises that month. Follow my instagram @KeenKhalid for recent updates.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Three qualities that were most impactful in my journey? Planning, Persistence, and Purpose.

Planning – ALWAYS plan ahead! In all areas of life, a good plan will give you guidelines to ensure you’re on the right path towards your goal. With no plans you have no structure or idea on how things will go. Planning ahead will save you money, time, and energy.

Persistence – meaning: firm continuance in a course of action, in spite of difficulty or opposition. You’re going to need this no matter what field or area of life you’re in. When you want something, let alone NEED something, you have to work towards it no matter what obstacles arise. Every-time I was persistent in something even when the odds were against me, it worked out in my favor. Due to truly no giving up, persevering over difficulties.

Purpose – As stated at the beginning of the interview, “The reason something is done – why it exists”

“Have a purpose for doing anything or nothing will come from doing.” – KEEN

In those times where it feels hopeless, your purpose should bring power to overcome, your purpose will fuel you when you feel like all you have left is fumes.

Who has been most helpful in helping you overcome challenges or build and develop the essential skills, qualities or knowledge you needed to be successful?
Truly it has been my FAITH. . .my faith in the Lord which brings faith in myself. Whenever challenges arise I pray and I pray hard. (or silently, God hears all)

1 John 4:4

Little children, you are from God and have overcome them (challenges), for he who is in you is greater than he who is in the world. (ESV)
