Meet Keilah Scott

We recently connected with Keilah Scott and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Keilah , appreciate you sitting with us today to share your wisdom with our readers. So, let’s start with resilience – where do you get your resilience from?
I believe I get my resilience from my mom’s spirit flowing through me. I know she wants me to keep pushing, no matter what obstacles life throws at me. My resilience comes from my determination to be the greatest version of myself everyday I rise! My resilience stems from my ancestors who wanted to, but couldn’t. Their spirits live through me.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
I am a certified personal trainer. I specialize in strength conditioning. One of the most exciting parts about being a personal trainer, is all of the different personalities I encounter. I love meeting new people! I love to see the difference in their performances. Another part I love about training, is that not only do I help others with their fitness goals, I also grow mentally and physically along with my clients! I love the feeling of success after completing a workout! After 4 years of manifesting becoming a certified fitness trainer, I received my certificates in April of 2021! I grew in love with the idea of training ever since the first day of conditioning for track and field in 2012. I felt the intensity and a rush shot throughout my body. I knew in my soul that it was meant for me to continue the journey and motivate others to experience the same exuberayting feeling!
I am here to change the lives of others, build people up, and help mold them into their ultimate fit selves! Taking care of our body is vital; loving thyself is key!

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
I was born with speed! Thanks to my father’s genetics and his motivating saying [you’re so fast, you can turn off a light and get into bed before it gets dark!]

Track and Field played a major role in my fitness journey. It was the adrenaline rush at the meets every week that motivated me to keep my grades up! Track and Field developed me into the fitness trainer I am today!

Due to having such amazing coaches/influencers Quentin Bradley and Mark Creecy, along with my studies through ISSA, I have gained knowledge on and off the track that I take with me everywhere. I apply it to everyday life and it helps get me through!

The best advice I can give to those who are early in their journey is: remember why you began. never be too hard on yourself. begin where you are with confidence. believe in yourself. love yourself always. and never give up on being the best version of you!

Any advice for folks feeling overwhelmed?
When I feel overwhelmed, I disconnect from the world. I deactivate social media. I give myself space to breathe and meditate until I feel like myself again. I spend time calming my mind with meditation practices and mindful breathing. mindful breathing has helped me so much along my healing journey. I always encourage others to take deep breaths multiple times throughout the day. I encourage others to breathe deeply into their hearts. inhale the new; exhale the old.
