Meet Kela Ro

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Kela Ro a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Kela, thanks for sharing your insights with our community today. Part of your success, no doubt, is due to your work ethic and so we’d love if you could open up about where you got your work ethic from?
My work ethic comes from my dad. He’s owned his own Concrete Business since before I was born. That definitely paved the way for me & made me believe that I would be my own Business woman one day.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
I provide 100% Glueless (Ready Made) Wigs for the everyday Women.

These are for the everyday Women who do not have time to sit in the salon for hours for a install, don’t have the money to go to the salon, or for the women that just want to throw on their Wigs & go.

All my Wigs are ready made and ready to wear. My wigs come bleached, washed, conditioned, plucked, (customized hairline), and styled.

All you have to do is cut the lace and throw it on and go.

They are 100% ready to wear & cuts the additional cost of paying for an install at a salon!

I will be launching my website within the next couple of months so more people will be able to shop online & order from different places!

I would say the most exciting part about my business would be making Women look and feel good. My motto for this business of mine is:

P.S. I hope you feel beautiful today!

& that’s what I enjoy doing providing Wigs to help women feel beautiful inside and out.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Looking back at when I first started creating Wigs and where I am at now. The process has definitely changed. The growth has been extraordinary. The key is to always improve, do your research, stay in the know!

Advice that I could give anywhere starting this journey is to start where you are and to keep going! It get greater. Your skills will improve it just takes practice!

What is the number one obstacle or challenge you are currently facing and what are you doing to try to resolve or overcome this challenge?
A challenge that I faced was coming to the realization that everyone was not my target audience. It’s definitely hard thinking your business is for everyone. Quite frankly it’s not. Finding my audience was hard. I didn’t know who I was trying to reach specifically besides everyone. That definitely was not it. It took me a long time to come to a realization of who my audience was. It was a lot of stopping taking a few steps back, and rebranding to realize who my business was for and what it represents.
