Hi Kellie, appreciate you sitting with us today. Maybe we can start with a topic that we care deeply about because it’s something we’ve found really sets folks apart and can make all the difference in whether someone reaches their goals. Self discipline seems to have an outsized impact on how someone’s life plays out and so we’d love to hear about how you developed yours?
I have always had a strong desire to succeed. Losing my Dad to cancer when I was12 years old was a deeply impactful experience and it completely shaped my understanding of strength and resilience. This loss highlighted the unbreakable bonds within my family, especially as I watched my newly single mom navigate any challenge with unwavering determination. My Mom is the epitome of self-discipline and success, tirelessly working and committing herself to ensure our family thrived. Her example of perseverance, faith, and love instilled in me the same values, teaching me to approach life with the same disciplined mindset that she exemplified every day.
Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
As a Producer, the most rewarding thing about what I get to do is learn about other thriving businesses, why they do what they do, and how that translates strategically to video production. My journey in both film and event production has been super dynamic and also a very fulfilling adventure. Graduating from Chapman University with a degree in Film and Television Production was a pivotal moment, solidifying my passion for the craft. Although the film industry initially seemed like a challenging fit, I reinvented myself by applying my skills to event production, where I spent over 15 years of my career. In 2019, I embraced a significant shift by returning to my roots in video production by joining my husband’s company, Amoroma Productions. This decision allowed me to blend my extensive event production experience with my true love for film, driving our work in commercial and event videography forward. I’m beyond excited to continue expanding our reach and sharing our creative projects with the world. Look out for our next feature length documentary called “Vintage Arizona: The Heart of Winemaking” releasing very soon! So many people don’t know that the beautiful state of Arizona has over 150 farm licensed wineries making amazing wine that is elegant and true to the Arizona terroir. We are very excited to release a version of this wine story.
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Looking back on my journey, three qualities have been particularly impactful: motivation, networking and resiliency. Motivation and my drive for succeeding kept me focused and moving forward, even when challenges arose. Networking and social skills helped me build invaluable connections and open up opportunities in the industry. The resiliency I learned from observing my mom’s determination enabled me to overcome obstacles and keep pushing forward. For those early in their journey, my best advice is to say “yes” to opportunities and get involved in local organizations. These actions will absolutely foster growth, connection, and learning, laying a strong foundation for long-term success.
Who is your ideal client or what sort of characteristics would make someone an ideal client for you?
Our ideal client is a small business or marketing agency who values collaboration and is eager to work together to create something exceptional. They seek a genuine connection with their audience, understanding the importance of authentic engagement.
