Meet Kelly Perkins

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Kelly Perkins. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Hi Kelly, we’re so appreciative of you taking the time to share your nuggets of wisdom with our community. One of the topics we think is most important for folks looking to level up their lives is building up their self-confidence and self-esteem. Can you share how you developed your confidence?

Wow, what an awesome question. The way I’ve developed confidence and self-esteem. Well, I’ve always had the spirit of it since I was a child. Of course, I’ve gone through experiences that have shaped me into who I am today. See we are not fully developed at a young age and not paying attention to everything that makes us have to reflect on who we are. Until now, I am a new woman today. I realize that I am learning my purpose daily. I had to experience obstacles and situations with people or making decisions that will either be risky or the greatest. Now, I walk with boldness to be confident in this season of my life.
I know who I was created by and who saved me from it all. I am a true believer in my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I had to be gracefully broken from people, places, and things. My faith walk with the Lord has given me the strength to get up every day, pray, forgive, be obedient, and lastly love myself so I can learn to love others. I take no credit for where I am now. The only credit I will say is doing the work and taking action. My self-esteem and confidence are helping to know that when I feel overwhelmed or frustrated, I know I can overcome by staying obedient and letting go of offenses. I am beautiful and wonderfully made. I started reading more books in 2025 to help build my words on how I speak, making better decisions, and why I need to have faith. Faith is the hope of the unseen. By putting my trust and faith in God, my confidence will not go on auto pilot. I won’t feel ashamed about it because hope is needed during these challenging times. Lastly, I will continue to walk with my head held high and shoulders back with confidence that I know that I can make it through anything no matter comes my way.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?

In addition, keeping up with the beauty trends, make up techniques, products or whatever that will help us staying afloat during the seasons. My ultimate goal is to be on platforms, be the beauty shows, and schools to show how to maintain a work life balance in life while still being behind the chair.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

The three qualities skills that were most impactful in this journey, pivoting mentorship/coaching, and managing your number numbers the advice I will give to folks with all of these qualities is be ready to pivot, continue to be a student to learn from others that will benefit in those areas that you don’t know. Stop to take a couple of breaths and be patient with to yourself. Every day you can develop skills that will help you stay in business and to be able to take care of yourself along the way.

Looking back over the past 12 months or so, what do you think has been your biggest area of improvement or growth?

The biggest area of growth and improvement I have achieved in the past 12 months is recognizing who I am becoming mentally, physically, and emotionally. I used to ignore my inner thoughts, believing it was normal and that things would improve with time. However, I have now invested in myself by addressing what I needed to work on. Building my trust in God has guided me through it all. I started by praying more and reading books to help combat my negative inner thoughts. I have strengthened my relationships with loved ones and set healthy boundaries to ensure I am treated with respect. I understand that to be taken seriously, I must take myself seriously and not worry about others’ opinions of my growth, especially since they’re used to the old Kelly. I am growing in a healthier direction by educating myself and understanding that positive change often means adapting my environment to support my dreams. I have clear goals ahead, and I am committed to achieving them. I am also returning to my physical self-care routine, focusing first on inner wellness before caring for my outer appearance. I am confident and proud of where I am in my life now.
