Meet Kelsey Riggsbee

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Kelsey Riggsbee. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Kelsey, so excited to have you with us today. So much we can chat about, but one of the questions we are most interested in is how you have managed to keep your creativity alive.

Being around kids keeps my creativity alive. They can turn a cardboard box into a spaceship or a fridge full of rainbow cake ingredients, and that kind of imagination is contagious.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

I create hands-on activity kits that make it easy for families to spend meaningful time together. My background as a teacher helps me design activities that are not only fun, but also support learning and development along the way. What makes Grand Moments special is that everything comes ready to go. There is no running around for supplies or spending hours on Pinterest. Families can just open the box and jump right in. We release a new themed kit each month, and we also offer a few year-round favorites, like our Fine Motor Kit, which is especially helpful for kids who are getting ready to start kindergarten.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

For me, the most important qualities have been creativity, persistence, and flexibility. Creativity helped me dream up the idea, persistence kept me moving forward when things felt overwhelming, and flexibility allowed me to adjust along the way.

How can folks who want to work with you connect?

I’d love to collaborate with other small businesses, especially those creating craft or sensory items that could be a good fit for our kits. I’m also open to partnering with local Raleigh spots that serve kids, like play spaces or birthday venues. Anyone interested can connect with me through our website or social media.
