Meet Kelsey Williams

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Kelsey Williams a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Kelsey, so great to have you with us and we want to jump right into a really important question. In recent years, it’s become so clear that we’re living through a time where so many folks are lacking self-confidence and self-esteem. So, we’d love to hear about your journey and how you developed your self-confidence and self-esteem.

My confidence didn’t come from one moment, it came from experience. Showing up consistently, creating even when I wasn’t fully confident yet, and seeing the results over time built my self-esteem. I learned to trust myself by doing the work, making mistakes, and realizing I didn’t need to be perfect to be worthy or successful. I think confidence comes from knowing yourself. As I’ve grown, I’ve become more comfortable standing by my choices, even when they don’t make sense to everyone else. That self-acceptance changed everything.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

I’m a content creator focused on music, nightlife, and live experiences, driven primarily by passion and community. I work with the street and promo team for Sound System Error in Los Angeles, helping spread the word about upcoming shows by sharing content ahead of events and documenting moments during the shows themselves.

What makes this work special to me is that it’s rooted in genuine excitement rather than obligation. Everything I post comes from actually being there and loving the culture, whether I’m supporting local events or sharing moments from sets I attend as a fan, including a few John Summit shows over the past year. Right now, I’m focused on continuing to grow creatively within the LA music scene and refining how I capture live experiences.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

1. Authenticity
Being genuine and only sharing what I truly connect with has been the most impactful part of my journey.
Advice: Create from real interest, not trends—people can tell the difference.

2. Consistency
Showing up regularly, even in small ways, helped build momentum over time.
Advice: Don’t wait for perfection. Consistent effort matters more than timing.

3. Understanding the Culture
Being present in the scene and knowing when to capture and share moments made my content more meaningful.
Advice: Immerse yourself. The more you’re around it, the sharper your instincts become.

Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?

Absolutely! I’m always open to collaborating with creatives, artists, and music industry professionals who are passionate, authentic, and excited about creating experiences or content that connect with people. Whether it’s live events, music promotion, visual storytelling, or social media content, I love partnering with people who bring fresh energy and ideas to the table.

If anyone is interested in collaborating, the best way to connect is through my social media [instagram @haaykels, tiktok @bbykelss] or by reaching out via email at [[email protected]]. I’m always excited to see what we can create together.
