We were lucky to catch up with Kelvi Wilson recently and have shared our conversation below.
Kelvi, we’re so excited for our community to get to know you and learn from your journey and the wisdom you’ve acquired over time. Let’s kick things off with a discussion on self-confidence and self-esteem. How did you develop yours?
My confidence and self esteem came with starting Kelvi Doviar Cosmetics. The brand stands behind confidence within women in general . When a woman gets dressed up and fixes herself up to the full capacity these is nothing wrong with a little make up , lipgloss, lashes , eyeshadow or foundation. We are given this title oh having to be super woman especially if you have kids , sometimes we get to the point where we don’t feel beautiful or confident, but once we fix ourself up the confidence and the self esteem automatically goes up.
Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
My brand started in 2020 when Covid started, I got the idea when unfortunately i was still going through postpartum three years after i had my daughter. I stopped getting my hair done , i didn’t care much to take care of myself i literally put all my energy into my daughter. What i learned was in order for your kids to be okay that as a parent you have to take care of yourself as well. My brand name was different at first when i started before i rebranded, my business is literally named after myself. You can put the brand to a face, my brand is all about women empowerment, making yourself feel good and look good after fixing yourself up. Although I’m coming up on four years in business soon , I’ll be adding on more products and items.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

It’s more to it than just a cute logo , your marketing , branding and customer service is very important.
What was the most impactful thing your parents did for you?
My mom taught me literally everything , but she taught me to be humble with anything i achieved or earned. Never let anybody know your next plan before you announce it.
