Meet Kendra Hampton

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Kendra Hampton . We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Kendra below.

Hi Kendra , appreciate you sitting with us today to share your wisdom with our readers. So, let’s start with resilience – where do you get your resilience from?
I think I get it from my mom. Growing up, I was the youngest of 4 children to a single mother. As anyone could imagine it wasn’t easy for her. I just remember no matter what, she always made a way. It was so many things she was up against, and so many problems that came her way, but no matter what she never gave up. I hardly ever see her sweat. I got older and now realizing what I was witnessing, made me feel like no matter what, I’m never gonna stop. It’s in me. It’s in my blood to never stop.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
My name is Kendra and I’m a 28 year old travel professional from Saint Louis,Mo. As a kid I wasn’t able to travel as much because I was raised by a single mother of four and vacations weren’t really in the budget. Once I hit 16 I purchased my passport and begged my brother to take me out the country. Cancun,Mexico was the first place I visited and from that moment I knew I had a passion for traveling. During Covid, I decided I wanted to start my entrepreneurship journey and I realized it was going to have to be something based on what I love to do. It was nothing I loved to do more than traveling, so I started to research businesses around that. After tons of research I came across being a travel agent, it literally was never the plan before that moment. Four years later today, I run a very successful travel agency and I couldn’t be more grateful. At this very moment, I have traveled to 14 countries around the world. Dubai, Japan, Columbia, Jamaica, & Barbados just the name a few. Now I help people like you and me take vacations they’ve always dreamed of. It’s the best decision I ever made !

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Looking back I would say being determined, focused and driven were three areas of knowledge that were most impactful in my journey because they all kept me going, they all make you look at the bigger picture and go after what you want. Advice that I would give to anybody early in their journey is keep going. Even when you have those doubts, even when you get tired, even when it seems like no one is supporting, even when it seems like it’s not paying off. keep going ! People are always watching and it can take off at any moment.

Alright, so before we go we want to ask you to take a moment to reflect and share what you think you would do if you somehow knew you only had a decade of life left?
I’d do what I’m doing now but I’d go even harder lol. I’d be traveling the world, exploring different countries, trying new foods and just living life one passport stamp at a time. That way when it was my time, it’s not a thing I would have wished I done differently.
