Kennay , we’ve been so fortunate to work with so many incredible folks and one common thread we have seen is that those who have built amazing lives for themselves are also often the folks who are most generous. Where do you think your generosity comes from?
My generosity come from my dad. He’s the most generous person I ever met. Sometimes he’s too generous lol that can be a gift and a curse.
Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
My name is Kennay Powell. I am a beauty influencer and content creator born in Baltimore MD. My favorite content to create is beauty, skin care , and lifestyle. I also have my own company Charmedbykp. Charmedbykp is a small retail company that sell name accessory, cosmetics, and candles. Our accessories are custom name plated only. Our cosmetics is vegan and cruelty free. Our candles are soy which is better for the environment and burn slower. I been an entrepreneur for 5 years and a content creator for 9 months. I started as an Amazon influencer in November 2022. I was consistent and started receiving collaborations with varies companies. My content is mostly beauty, hair, and skin care. If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
The three qualities that was most impactful in my journey is consistency, drive, and confidence. You have to be confident in anything that you do. If you don’t believe in yourself no one will believe in you. Everyday you show up as YOU and nobody else. It’s so easy to copy someone else style but believe it or not people will love you for being you! You have to have drive. What ever you want to be or what ever you want to do. You can make a whole new life for yourself.
What’s been one of your main areas of growth this year?
My biggest area of growth is setting boundaries. I was always a YES I’ll do it sure I’ll be there. Life started to become draining. I work a 9-5 , run a business ,and create content so I’m a busy woman. My free days should be FREE for me to relax or catch up on some shows maybe go shopping or a spa day. I started to put ME first.
