We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Kennedy Youngren. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Kennedy below.
Alright, so we’re so thrilled to have Kennedy with us today – welcome and maybe we can jump right into it with a question about one of your qualities that we most admire. How did you develop your work ethic? Where do you think you get it from?
This is so fun. I credit both my father and my aunt as my inspiration for my work ethic. My aunt, a single mother of two boys, has worked TIRELESSLY to give them an incredible life. She’s an ICU nurse who works multiple jobs and I can promise you, you’ve never met someone who works harder than she does.
My father has always and will always be my biggest inspiration. I watched him start a company from the ground up and run it into something that is so successful. His business and employees have turned into family, some of whom have been in my life since the beginning, somewhere around 2008 (when I was 11 years old). I tell everyone, my dad is such an optimistic, happy person who I usually describe as “living in his own world” because he is so unphased by outside noise. He carries so much stress doing everything in his power to give me and my siblings the life we did, with absolutely NOTHING in return and no expectations. He lit a fire in me to go build on my own dreams, rather than to feed someone else’s and I think thats what inspired me to become a private practice dietitian, full-time at only 25.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
I’m Kennedy Youngren, MS RDN LD SPN. A Waverly, MN based registered dietitian who primarily serves the agriculture population. After having my daughter in 2022, I went on to specialize in prenatal nutrition, helping families fuel their bodies for fertility, have healthy pregnancies, overcome infertility, and more.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Tenacity, Perseverance, and Grit, maybe a little fear of failure, too.
You have to wake up everyday and fall in love with the hard work. Practice what you preach, and set it all into movement. There is no one coming to save you at the end of the day, so you’ve got to want it in the worst way possible.
How would you describe your ideal client?
My ideal client is a woman who either has a history of miscarriage, or is working to optimize their fertility prior to conception. I LOVE looking through GiMaps and client labs to get them feeling, not just the “normal” but their absolute best self. The women who come to me are ready to work and learn and walk away feeling incredible, and ideally pregnant!
