We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Kenneth Harris Iii a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Kenneth, so great to have you on the platform and excited to have you share your wisdom with our community today. Communication skills often play a powerful role in our ability to be effective and so we’d love to hear about how you developed your communication skills.

Developing communication skills was hard for me growing up. I’ve always had friends and family I felt comfortable talking to but I’ve been shy since I could remember. Growing up the people around me wasn’t very social so I wasn’t. Starting barber school I learned to start communicating. In order to become a successful entrepreneur you have to be able to communicate with people, so with that being said I had to break that ice I started communicating with people everywhere I went, clubs, stores, the gym and anywhere else I went, and I must say it has gotten me where I am today. Sometimes just a simple ” hey how are doing” can take you a long way.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?

As told in my recent interviews I’m a licensed barber/social media influencer that creates content. Lately I been focused on partnering and collaborating with brands, working with companies from barbering to fashion, to fragrances etc. The exciting thing about being a content creator/social media influencer is being able to be creative and receive free products, which is my favorite thing about it.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

The three main qualities that were most impactful in my journey were, Staying humble, being positive keeping a great attitude at all times, and being able to take constructive criticism. Its important to have these qualities because keeping a good positive attitude can take you a long way, people would attract to you just because of your good energy. Taking constructive criticism is important because when it comes to growing you have to always be willing to learn, the moment you stop wanting to learn you put a seal over yourself! The main thing I always say and something I stand on is staying humble at all times. Remaining humble is important to me because I believe the same way God give you things he could snatch it from you as well, and I also know what its like to have nothing so I always try to remain humble.

I’m looking for people to partner and collaborate with. I made that my new year resolution to Collab with as many people as I can and reach out to companies. Honestly I want to collaborate with some big major companies this year, Clothing brands, barber companies, shoe brands, something as big as Target.
