Meet Kersten Davis & Ashley Boggs

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Kersten Davis & Ashley Boggs a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Kersten & Ashley, so happy to have you with us today and there is so much we want to ask you about. So many of us go through similar pain points throughout our journeys and so hearing about how others developed certain skills or qualities that we are struggling with can be helpful. Along those lines, we’d love to hear from you about how you developed your ability to take risk?

Starting Pages of Glass LLC was definitely a risk for us, especially with the mindset that we wanted to take on such a big project within our first year of existing. However, we know how large the reader community is in northwest Ohio and felt we are perfectly situated between some big cities that house a lot of indie authors, creators and bookstores that we wanted to work with.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?

Pages of Glass LLC was created at the end of 2024. It was out of our personal love of romance novels and the surrounding community of book lovers and readers. Our mission statement says: Our mission is to curate a space where readers and creators alike can connect, discover, and share the magic of storytelling. Through thoughtful partnerships and a commitment to quality, we aim to foster a community that values creativity, passion, and the joy of supporting small businesses in the literary world.

Our very first Bookish Market is happening on August 2, 2025 in Toledo, OH where we are bringing in 50+ indie authors, 35+ vendors and 7 indie bookstores. Everyone is a lover of books and the community it has created for us & we are really excited for it to finally come together. GA Tickets are only $5 & you can get them & check out who is coming here: linktr.ee/pagesofglass

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

Three things that we feel were most impactful on this journey:
1. Authenticity. We are honest that this is our first event, we have asked for help along the way and have updated when something unexpected has happened or changed.
2. Persistency. There have been times were we have felt defeated and that maybe we had taken on more than we could chew, but we persisted. We continued finding our way and haven’t given up on our dream event.
3. Networking. There is no one better to ask what they are looking for in an event than readers and the authors/vendors themselves. We go many ideas about what activities to do, hours of operation, who to ask to join us from the exact people who will be at the event.

One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?

For future events, we want to continue to connect with independent authors, independent bookstores and vendors who curate different bookish related products that we know readers will love (jewelry, shirts, stickers, bookmarks, unique items, etc). We will be sharing our 2026 date within the next few months that will include the application to be a participant in that event.

However, we love making these types of events accessible to everyone and would love to work with you to organize an event. Our email is pagesofglass@gmail.com OR you can find all of our social media information at linktr.ee/pagesofglass
