Hi Kesi, thanks for sharing your insights with our community today. Part of your success, no doubt, is due to your work ethic and so we’d love if you could open up about where you got your work ethic from?

Definitely my mom. At one point my dad was around and then he wasn’t for a while. I remember moms working 3 jobs at one point to make sure we the bare necessities. She even retired and went back to work.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

My Story
Daughter, Sister, Aunt, Great Aunt, and friend, and Creative Artist. I love how my mind see things differently and that allows me to create in different mediums. My intentions are to continue being authentic while creating for myself and others. Leading with my “Create Your Vibe” motto and slogan “Protect your energy. Be stingy with your time. Stay grateful and blessed.” In turn teaching and growing the youth for the new art world to come, by volunteering and reminding any and everyone that nothing is impossible and there’s no wrong way to art.
As I mentioned I’m an artist and a creator. They say do something you love and this is truly a passion, art and creating are my life. As for the brand I want to move more towards Ecomm. I want the Ecomm to be the bulk of sales. And to continue learning and growing. Not being afraid to ask for help and take chances. The plan is to continue getting better at my craft and to continue being authentic in the process.
Although in the future I would like to have an open gallery/creative space. For people to still visit and a space of inspiration and teaching. A space to reveal different techniques and artistic styles that I’ve learned. For now I’m having art shows and attending pops ups that resonate with my movement.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

My journey to where I am now. Wow…not where I thought I would be for sure. The number one quality for me is to be teachable. Be willing to learn. Be a sponge even if you don’t think it’s relevant in your life right now. Knowledge is the key to all successes.
Second thing…technologies! They are here to stay so get ready. If you’re in business or a business owner learn about these technologies and programs or find someone who does. The impact it’s making in our everyday lives is valid enough for research. You have to adapt to change.
Lastly…keep going. I know you hear this one all the time, but it’s true. Keep going. Eventually you learn from your mistakes. Even if it’s 10 years down the line. You will get real with self and realize your in the same cycle. When you do that’s when expansion and growth happen.

We’ve all got limited resources, time, energy, focus etc – so if you had to choose between going all in on your strengths or working on areas where you aren’t as strong, what would you choose?

For me I’m going to say well rounded. I get bored easily. So I’m always looking for the next thing to learn or looking for a way to remix something that already exist.
It’s not to master it, but to try it to see if I like or to see if doing this kind of art or craft or anything for that matter makes me feel good. If it makes me feel good…most likely I want to continue doing that. We all know anything you do over time can be mastered. So eventually, you master that thing. That’s what this art/fashion/creative world has done for me. I’m grateful for it.
