We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Kevin Freeland. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Kevin below.
Kevin, thank you so much for making time for us today. We can’t wait to dive into your story and the lessons you’ve learned along the way, but maybe we can start with something foundational to your success. How have you gone about developing your ability to communicate effectively?
You are only restricted by your ability to communicate. Most of the time it’s your own fears that holds you back. What I have taught my self is to see everyone as equal Money, age, life status, or opportunities dose not restrict your ability to connect with people on a personal level. It’s the fear of not knowing exactly how the outcome of the conversation will go that restricts us all in are ability to communicate. Knowing this is half the battle the other half is meeting people where they are at in life not matter where they are at. It is not are job in life to be fearful or look down on others. All these are are factors I think about daily keeping me on track for success.
Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
I am actually focused on all 3 at once. I make Tie Dye for fun through my Tie Dye business Hippie Stash. Keep my mind creative as well spreading positivity through color and great conversation. With this business I offer team building classes for nonprofits and corporate companies. Allow me to make just enuf and help others along the way. I also run the Palm Coast Farmers Market with my business partner William Meyer. We just received the opportunity in January to take over the market. Since we took over we have almost doubled the vendors, increased foot traffic, and brought the social media page up 2000 more followers and 587,000 views. This has allowed small businesses and none profits to make money on a weekly basis here in Palm Coast. Through all of these things I am open ears willing and eager to help others. You can contact me through Hippie Stash if you would like to buy a tie dye or discuss a team building class. If you are a business owner and want to join the market or consult for marketing and social media strategy’s please email palmcoastfarmersmarket386@gmail.com
William and I are also working on 2 more markets in the surrounding areas. That will be launched by the end of the year. So stay tuned to see what’s next.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
First is definitely being able to connect with people. That all comes with respect of others and the belief that we are all equal not matter what.
Second my drive and determination to make a difference not just for my family but for others.
Theird the manifestation of who I wanted to be ,accepting who I am, and doing what it takes to be who I want to be.
As we end our chat, is there a book you can leave people with that’s been meaningful to you and your development?
The Christian version of the Bible. Read the stories about people putting other’s before their own needs with no fear. The stories teach us lessons with out having to live it and share circumstances that are unimaginable. Allowing you to apply things to your life that you don’t have to experience. The more I applied it to my life the happy I became and the more successful I am.
