Meet Kevin Lawal

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Kevin Lawal. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Hi Kevin, thanks for sharing your insights with our community today. Part of your success, no doubt, is due to your work ethic and so we’d love if you could open up about where you got your work ethic from?

I get my work ethic from a God given gift to want to be great in life as a father of two sons”Michael & Zaid”, man, friend, and big brother to 7 other siblings not matter the up and downs. I’ve always been self driven and a sponge to learning new things. Its always been fascinating to be self sufficient and share my achievements and learnings with others. I’ve witnessed work ethic from various angles early in life: starting with my Mom, a fierce leader and go-getter in the corporate business world, and my Pops, who can always make something out of nothing as Ive learned from building a good relationship with him.
Naturally, growing up, you also pick up on things from your surroundings and the culture. My mother and grandmother always kept me around good people growing up. My mom would work long shifts at distribution center and my grandmother would watch us while she work they both did a great job taking care of us no matter what.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

I’ve been working with technology for a long time staring as kid. My business name Is Build and Grow Technology. I named it that because its a lifestyle I live by and I feel as you should live that way in all aspects of life. I like the acronym B.A.G. as well because you definitely need to secure the bag. I provide consulting services for Salesforce which is cloud-based and offers customer relationship management (CRM) applications. It helps businesses manage sales, marketing, customer service, e-commerce, analytics, and application development.

I’m in the game development and mod creation space. This allows me to add to or alter games, extending the value and lifespan of the games I and others love. My latest project involves placing people into the games they want to be in, such as Fortnite or Grand Theft Auto. For instance, I’m currently building a GTA map featuring my hometown, Tifton, GA, along with other smaller Southern cities like Sylvester, GA, and Valdosta, GA, extending up to Atlanta. The map will include key landmarks such as clubs, restaurants, and houses. I aim to incorporate people from these areas into the game, offering a fun way for them to see themselves while also potentially sparking an interest in technology.

I also build custom apps and websites, regardless of size, industry, or requirements. We can create it all.

Additionally, I develop AI chatbots that are trained to have human-like conversations and solve problems.

My business is special because we aim to bring your vision to life, no matter who you are or what you want to do. I encourage individuals to visit my site so we can build and grow together, expanding the B.A.G.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

1. Learn to communicate effectively with different audiences and cultures. Not everyone has the same technical skills or professional expertise, so it’s important to understand how to engage with people appropriately.

2. Take calculated risks and get comfortable being uncomfortable. Trying new things is an ongoing learning experience for me, crucial for building a brand, expanding my network, and gaining self-knowledge. Despite experiencing failure multiple times, I believe it builds character when you can learn from it.

3. Expand your circle. You become like the people you surround yourself with. Start engaging with like-minded individuals and attend events, even if you go alone.

One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?

My goal is to address global challenges using technology and assist anyone needing an app, website, or software developed for their needs or ideas.
