Meet Kevin Le

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Kevin Le. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Kevin, so good to have you with us today. We’ve always been impressed with folks who have a very clear sense of purpose and so maybe we can jump right in and talk about how you found your purpose?
I found my purpose at a young age. Like many ambitious and wishful kids, I had ambitious dreams after discovering my passion, film. I would spend majority of my day outside of school watching movies and sinking into worlds outside of my own. With the mix of story telling, limitless possibilities, and the capability of creating something that can be achieved into history, my purpose was presented to me. As I grew older, I wanted to make sure that I lived a life that could be shared to my future family and that could be revisited once I am old and reminiscent. I then sought out to become an filmmaker to tell stories with limitless possibilities of who I am and what I can be.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
I grew up in Northern Virginia, home to professions that are predominantly within the IT and Government field. After I graduated from Commonwealth University with a major in Marketing, I moved to Los Angeles California to work in film. In LA, I started my career as an actor, stuntman, and stunt coordinator working with Lionsgate, Million subscriber YouTube channels, and independent films. Working as an an actor and stunt coordinator, my brand has upheld a standard for intense martial arts action sequences with limitless adaptation to any film or scenario. Working as an Asian-American actor and stunt coordinator, I want to ensure that the level of action in film is upheld and respected, along with the Asian-American film making community.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Attending business school and graduating with a degree in business, I have learned skills and qualities that an individual must have to flourish in the film and entrepreneurial field. Each of those skills have positively impacted my journey and has equipped me for success. Three of the most notable qualities that helped me prosper has been; ability to adapt, conscious self-presentation, and high creative endurance. The ability to adapt in the ever changing world and industry that is film is key to improving in a highly competitive field. Being hyper conscious of how you present yourself is important for connecting with the network around you. Lastly, having a high endurance to creative fatigue is key to maintaining consistency and burnout in a field that only limits you based on your capability to create. My advice is to exercise these qualities every opportunity you have, despite any reason that will lead to you failing. Failing is important to obtaining those three qualities.

Who has been most helpful in helping you overcome challenges or build and develop the essential skills, qualities or knowledge you needed to be successful?
As humans, we are definitely a product of our environment, and it is up to us to surround ourselves with a community and area that will help us become the best versions of ourselves. My filmmaking friends have been my source for developing essential skills as well as my back up when it comes to overcoming a challenge. Having that group of colleagues and friends that are constantly teaching and elevating was the key for overcoming many obstacles that I have faced along the way in this competitive field.
