We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Kevin Ross. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Kevin below.

Kevin, thank you so much for joining us. You are such a positive person and it’s something we really admire and so we wanted to start by asking you where you think your optimism comes from?

My optimism I would have to say comes from my childhood. I just always had a positive outlook on life at a young age, even though life can be a huge challenge at times.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

In my creative process I am an actor at heart but over the years I have discovered my writing and director skills and have honed in on all aspects of my work. I am inspired by Issa Rae and many others who paved the way for artist to make their own creative content and to not fold to the “Hollywood image”.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

I would say three most important qualities that helped guide me in my journey thus far have been my desire my ability and my willingness to get the job done.

What has been your biggest area of growth or improvement in the past 12 months?

The FOCUS on my career, I dropped the things from my life that were holding me back from achieving my goals and really started treating the entertainment business as more of a business while still keeping my passion for it.
