Kevin, we’re thrilled to have you on our platform and we think there is so much folks can learn from you and your story. Something that matters deeply to us is living a life and leading a career filled with purpose and so let’s start by chatting about how you found your purpose.
I found my purpose by going a different route than the usual social norm at the time. I was in college to become a physical therapist but in reality I knew I didn’t want to do that for the rest of my life. I did some research on some career paths that made me use my creativity in my daily work routine. I landed on Video Production which didn’t make sense to a lot of the people around me at the time because it was still a new field and social media wasn’t nearly as popular as it is today.
I am so happy that I landed on the career path that I did because I love that I get to help business owners like myself grow, show their passion and skills to the world. I believe everyone who follows their passion deserves to be recognized for how much love and effort they put into whatever they do.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Looking back I think my 3 most important qualities and skills were my Communication skills, Creativity, and Commitment.
I used my communication skills to connect with potential clients. This also showed my personality in my marketing videos which showed people how passionate I was at videography.
I used my creativity skills to stick out on their feed which gained their attention and trust. This helped me show that I was capable of creating what they had in mind for their video’s.
I used my commitment qualities to stay locked in when I was slow. There was once a time where I would wish and dream to be in the position I am now. With years of experience, working with new clients monthly and even daily at times. All I ever wanted was to be working consistently in something I was passionate about.
For people who are starting their journey, I would say keep showing up a day at a time. I used to think it would happen overnight but it usually doesn’t and that’s why you have to patient. Check in with your goals monthly to see if you are putting in the effort and tracking on what you need to work on. Good luck!
What was the most impactful thing your parents did for you?
The most impactful thing my parents did for me was believing in me. They never doubted me for a second! Yes I would worry them at times with some of the hills I had to climb to get where I am at. Although overall they trusted in my commitment to getting where I wanted to be with my business. I will love them for that and I can never repay them for it. Thank you Mom and Dad, I love you guys!
