Meet Kevin Wachira

We were lucky to catch up with Kevin Wachira recently and have shared our conversation below.

Kevin, thanks for taking the time to share your lessons with our community today. So, let’s jump right in – one of the most essential skills for unlocking our potential is self-discipline. Where does your self-discipline come from?

My self-discipline comes from being blessed and gifted with a genuine passion for my crafts. Because I truly love what I do, it feels natural to make decisions that align with my goals—it doesn’t feel forced, it feels exciting and fulfilling. On the other hand, when I’m out of alignment, I feel it immediately. Wasting time or missing opportunities frustrates me, so I’ve learned to stay focused on what matters most. I also keep a focused lifestyle: if something doesn’t align with my goals or add real value, I don’t give it any energy.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?

At Produce Section Creative, I focus on building authentic stories and innovative design solutions for creatives, brands, and businesses. We’re a boutique creative agency with a diverse range of services from branding, product design, video production, capsule collections, and event production. What excites me most is the way each project becomes a collaboration. We don’t just provide a service; we work side-by-side with our clients to understand their vision and bring it to life in ways that connect deeply with their audiences.

What sets us apart is the way we merge authentic storytelling with bold creativity. Whether it’s a seasonal clothing capsule, a visual campaign, or an immersive event, we treat every project as an opportunity to spark connection and push boundaries.

One example is our recent “Wins On The Road” capsule, a collaboration with Rare Green Collective. This collection celebrated the idea of resilience to finding victories even while facing setbacks, staying bold in the journey, and honoring the risk-taking spirit of building something new. The capsule combined design, storytelling, and cultural symbolism, reflecting our vision of using fashion as a medium for deeper narratives.

Looking ahead, we’re gearing up for new capsule collections, creative collaborations, and explorative projects. These projects reflect not just our creativity, but also our resilience and commitment to evolving with the times.

At the heart of it all, Produce Section Creative is more than a business—it’s a creative movement driven by passion, collaboration, and a desire to help others shine.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

Looking back, the three qualities that have been most impactful in my journey are authenticity, passion, and vision.

Authenticity has always been at the core of what I do, both personally and through Produce Section Creative. I’ve learned that the strongest connections are built when you show up as your real self and lead with transparency. Whether it’s in storytelling, brand collaborations, or creative direction, authenticity builds trust and makes the work resonate on a deeper level. For those starting out, my advice is to focus less on fitting into a mold and more on being clear about who you are and what you stand for—people connect to that.

Passion is what fuels me. I’ve been blessed with a genuine love for my crafts, which makes the process enjoyable and keeps me motivated through both wins and challenges. At Produce Section Creative, that passion translates into the energy and detail we put into every project—whether it’s launching a capsule, developing a brand identity, or crafting strategy. For newcomers, I’d encourage them to chase the work that excites them and makes them feel alive because when you love what you do, it doesn’t feel like work.

Vision is what pushes me forward. From day one, I’ve believed in building something bigger than myself—something that can inspire, create opportunities, and leave a mark. At Produce Section Creative, vision drives how we see possibilities, and help brands tell stories that stand the test of time. For those early in their journey, I’d suggest nurturing your vision by setting long-term goals while staying flexible enough to evolve with the world around you.

Together, authenticity, passion, and vision have shaped not only my personal journey but also the way Produce Section Creative operates. They’ve been the foundation of everything we’ve built and continue to guide where we’re going next.

What’s been one of your main areas of growth this year?

Over the past 12 months, my biggest area of growth has been stepping more fully into alignment with my vision by trusting myself as both a leader and a creative. One of the biggest lessons has been understanding the importance of freedom: the ability to control my own path, make decisions in the best interest of my goals, and trust my gut when opportunities or challenges come up. That freedom has been the fuel that keeps me moving forward and ensures my work stays authentic.

This growth has shown up in tangible milestones too. Launching the Wins On The Road capsule was a turning point and it wasn’t just about creating products, but about telling a story of resilience, risk-taking, and celebrating victories along the journey. It gave me the confidence to push creative boundaries and connect with people in a deeper way. Another highlight was having my work and story featured in multiple platforms and magazines, which reinforced that the message behind Produce Section Creative resonates with audiences beyond just our immediate circle.

I’ve also grown in how I balance patience and consistency. Being a bootstrapped business requires resourcefulness, but it also requires you to listen closely to your intuition about where to put your energy. Over time, I’ve learned to say no to what doesn’t align, and double down on what does. That clarity has not only improved the quality of my work but has also helped shape the identity of Produce Section Creative into something distinct and lasting.

For me, the past year has been about growth in confidence, clarity, and alignment. By following my gut and honoring the freedom to build on my own terms, I’ve set a stronger foundation for everything that’s to come.
