Meet Kevo Aregbe

We recently connected with Kevo Aregbe and have shared our conversation below.

Kevo, we’re so excited for our community to get to know you and learn from your journey and the wisdom you’ve acquired over time. Let’s kick things off with a discussion on self-confidence and self-esteem. How did you develop yours?

I always thought confidence was normal. I’ve been a brave soul since I was a youth, and it took me to get older to realize, the reason I had so much confidence was my lack of parents in my life as a child. As sad as people made it seem, me not growing up with my parents made me more mature than my peers. Sometimes I was mature to please adults, and other times I was a menace to terrorize peers. I always wanted to dominate and be better.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?

My next stage play: Medusa | As Told By Kevo will be adapted Memorial Day, 2024 at Houston’s deluxe theater. I am a filmmaker, stage play producer, artist, college professor, and single dad. My next venture is to stream my dad life online.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

My 3 biggest qualities in my journey are leadership, finishing goals, and staying positive. I believe positive thinking has gotten me out of dark places, leadership has gotten me into rooms I’ve never thought I’d be in, and finishing goals inspires me to be better.

Who has been most helpful in helping you overcome challenges or build and develop the essential skills, qualities or knowledge you needed to be successful?

My late wife was so much help in my success. Although she has passed, she left me with two beautiful daughters and a heart full of hope. The best parts of me were enhanced when I feel down about her death. I just know she’d be more proud of my strength than depression.
