We were lucky to catch up with Keya Isler recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Keya, so happy to have you with us today and there is so much we want to ask you about. So many of us go through similar pain points throughout our journeys and so hearing about how others developed certain skills or qualities that we are struggling with can be helpful. Along those lines, we’d love to hear from you about how you developed your ability to take risk?
I developed my ability to take risks by first, understanding the benefits of taking risks. You do this by recognizing that taking risks can lead to new opportunities, personal growth, and increased self-confidence. Embracing risks can help you overcome fear and achieve your goals & learning to be ready for whatever the outcome may be. For example. evaluate the potential rewards and consequences of taking a risk. Consider the best-case scenario, worst-case scenario, and the most likely outcome. I’ve also learned that you have to value your past experiences. By reflecting on the past risks you have taken and the lessons learned from them. You have to understand what worked well and what didn’t, and use this knowledge to make better decisions in the future.
Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
3 areas of knowledge that were impactful on my business journey was;
1. Strangers will support your business more than friends/family. In business everyone has to learn strangers will always support you more than your family. I say this because of different perspectives. Strangers may possess unique knowledge or expertise in a particular area that family members may not have. This specialized knowledge can be valuable in providing guidance and support, especially in running a business.
2. You will get the most hate in your hometown. Some hate comes from, jealousy or resentment. Success can sometimes evoke feelings of jealousy or resentment in others, especially in a close-knit community. If your business is thriving or gaining attention, it may trigger negative reactions from individuals who feel envious or threatened by your accomplishments.
3. Quality over quantity, emphasizes the importance of prioritizing excellence, value, and effectiveness rather than focusing solely on the quantity or volume of something. Like, providing high-quality products leads to greater customer satisfaction. When customers receive a product or service that meets or exceeds their expectations, they are more likely to be loyal, refer others, and maintain a positive perception of your brand. Another example is, by consistently delivering quality. You will build a reputation for reliability, trustworthiness, and excellence. This also leads to sustained customer loyalty, positive word-of-mouth, and a big competitive advantage in the market.
Thanks so much for sharing all these insights with us today. Before we go, is there a book that’s played in important role in your development?
One book that has played an important role in my business life is, “The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F***”. This book really taught me how to not give a f*** & how to have a straight forward positive thinking. This book is valuable because Mark teaches you, happiness and success are not achieved by constantly striving for positivity or avoiding negative experiences. Instead, he argues that true happiness comes from accepting and embracing the inevitable struggles and uncertainties of life. Mark will encourage you to prioritize what truly matters to you and to let go of societal expectations and external validation, This book emphasizes the importance of choosing our values and priorities wisely, and learning to let go of things that don’t truly matter. A book that everyone can read & value from.
