We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Khalidah Robinson. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Khalidah below.
Khalidah , so many exciting things to discuss, we can’t wait. Thanks for joining us and we appreciate you sharing your wisdom with our readers. So, maybe we can start by discussing optimism and where your optimism comes from?
My optimism comes from knowing I could win any moment of any day. My optimism comes from the abundance that is experience. My optimism comes from understanding that any challenge is a catalyst of deeper understanding on my path. Everything happens for us not TO US! Even my hardest situations are things for me to be grateful for ,whether that be having a moment of financial decline or ridicule from others. It is the chisel that shapes my stone into a masterpiece.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
I am a multifaceted creative. I don’t believe in having to choose my passion even though there’s so much weight on having a distinct path, and a level of uncertainty/lostness with not choosing. I want to combine and consolidate all of my arts under the message that not only am I the canvas (Art making Art) , but I am LoveLi- I am an advocate for self love, growth, and understanding. I frequently use my art forms to portray this. A lot of times it comes from a place of healing. People don’t realize that as I create and share, I’m not only releasing information that I am learning or processing to others, but I’m releasing the weight of the process and my experiences by releasing them into my community as learning points and perspective changers for anyone who can relate.
LoveLi is simply that, love. I feel as though the toughest aspect of love is expression and that is actually what pushed this goal out of me, especially growing up as someone who was very avoidant with myself and others. My goal is to impact others to recognize their power, rewire their subconscious thinking, and turn their pain into the building blocks of their break through.
I have many different projects I am working on. I’m currently in the process of revisiting everything that I did as a child, because I feel as though my joy for modeling, fashion, creative writing/poetry, and music started a long time ago. I feel as though I abandoned those things in pursuit of validating what others saw fit for me, and what made others comfortable. This has been a continuous practice over the course of a year now, and I feel more and more confident in my divinely ordained purpose everyday.
I highly recommend going within and also seeking divine guidance on your path for true fulfillment.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
I feel as though the three most impactful areas of knowledge for results and happiness on my journey were authentic expression, self reassurance, and learning from everything and everyone.
I’d advise people on their journey to practice conditioning their brains to live in the now instead of the past, and look forward to the future. The journey is continuous, but if you’re always looking back, judging what you could have did differently, and replaying old scenarios, you’ll get to the future and look back on wasted years that you had thinking of things that wouldn’t even matter at the finish line. What matters is right now and the building blocks to what you want to be.
•I’d tell people to express themselves authentically for the best display of their craft. A lot of times, we get lost in the details, but what really matters is how your art makes you feel. If I’m walking down the runway consciously worried about others, my energy is completely different than if I’m confidently in my zone, focused on the music, and showing the audience the art. I dont have to force feed my authenticity. The people that my art and my being are intended for, will come to me. We have to let go of that fear of perception and perfection, because there is no one and nothing that is perfect on earth, and that’s the beauty of everyone and everything. .
•I believe that you can learn from anyone and anything. I know children who have taught me things, elderly, animals, and nature itself. This also is a key factor in the development of my creativity. When I am open to recieve and interpret, the possibilities are endless. The only thing about this is, I must simultaneously work on my self concept, pride, and rewire my subconscious to be more interested in gaining positive perspective over anything. (I must let go of having a big ego and humble myself to have the excitement to learn over, even if I already know the information. I must still be interested in receiving)

Before we go, any advice you can share with people who are feeling overwhelmed?
When I’m overwhelmed, which happens a lot during my current journey of breaking old patterns to birth new success, I take deep breaths, affirm myself of who I am and what I am capable of, and remind myself that I can’t sit in a storm. I have to make the conscious decision to work through my frustration because higher levels of success will require me to work through and self regulate, not shut down, or become avoidant with my nervous systems natural reaction to change.
