We recently connected with Khari Bush and have shared our conversation below.
Khari, so great to have you with us today. There are so many topics we want to ask you about, but perhaps the one we can start with is burnout. How have you overcome or avoided burnout?
I strive to have a great amount of self-awareness so that I know when it’s time for me to take a break. I tend to work hard for long periods of time and often times I don’t realize how long I’ve been going until I finally take a step back and evaluate everything that I’ve done. The best way to avoid burnout is to set time aside for yourself and to just be still and let your mind be at ease. Set time in your calendar that you have just for yourself to catch a breather.
Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
I enjoy learning about the goals that a person or business may be trying to accomplish and developing strategies to accomplish them. Often times someone can have the right idea but without the right tools/game-plan in place, that idea doesn’t produce the results they are looking for. I love to leverage my inherent skills to accelerate growth for others. I have clients in various industries that trust me when it comes to growing their book of business. From start ups, to multi-million dollar corporations… my goal is to help you generate the right leads, develop smart campaigns, expand into new territories, and generate more revenue for your business.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Patience, communication, and listening are the three skills that come to mind. I believe these skills must be nurtured and developed over time. I do believe that I have been blessed to naturally excel in certain areas. Understanding the areas that you are naturally skilled at and focusing on how you can improve in those areas can take you to the next level.
What would you advise – going all in on your strengths or investing on areas where you aren’t as strong to be more well-rounded?
Why not both? I think everyday we have an opportunity to grow and become better individuals. So why not improve the things we are already good at and work on the areas we need more help in as well. I personally strive to be the best I can be so if I know there’s something I need to work on, I do my best to work on whatever that may be. And if you do not know what to work on, increase your self-awareness and ask the people who you’re around the most everyday what they notice about you. Often times we sleep on the value feedback provides.
