We were lucky to catch up with Kiana Hubbard recently and have shared our conversation below.
Kiana, we’re thrilled to have you on our platform and we think there is so much folks can learn from you and your story. Something that matters deeply to us is living a life and leading a career filled with purpose and so let’s start by chatting about how you found your purpose.
Hi! I’m Kiana, the owner of Kiki’s Art Services. I’ve been an artist for as long as I can remember, always exploring new ways to express myself and try out different art methods. Over the years, I’ve sold commissioned and original pieces and recently branched out into hosting paint classes—and it’s been such a rewarding experience!
Growing up, I was always the babysitter who loved bringing out the paints and letting the kids’ creativity run wild. Later on, I worked in preschools where I created fun, educational art projects, and eventually with adults with disabilities, where art became a source of joy and connection for everyone involved. Seeing people light up when they create something they didn’t know they could—that’s what fills my heart.
Art has always been my safe space. Even on tough days, painting helps quiet my mind and reminds me why I fell in love with it in the first place. I don’t paint for perfection—I paint because it’s peaceful, meaningful, and it comes from the heart.
A lifelong dream of mine is to have my own studio where I can host classes, private parties, and also have a little creative corner just for me to get lost in my art. Starting my paint classes has been a big step toward that dream. I took this leap because I wanted to reach more people and continue growing—both as an artist and as a teacher.
In the end, I’ve realized my purpose is to create, inspire, and help others discover the joy of making something beautiful with their own hands.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
I’m a 29-year-old artist married to the love of my life, Dillon. We’ve been together for over five years, and he’s truly my biggest supporter—I wouldn’t be where I am today without him. I currently juggle two jobs (three if you count my paint classes!), and while art is my passion, I’ve always loved learning just as much. I recently decided to go back to school to earn my Associate of Arts degree, and who knows—maybe I’ll keep going from there!
My latest adventure has been creating and hosting paint classes through my business, Kiki’s Art Services. My first class was right in my home with a few of my closest friends who kindly volunteered to be my practice group. From there, things grew quickly! I was invited to host a Paint & Sip event for the residents at Fieldston of Fairway, and they absolutely blew me away with their talent—I wanted to hang their paintings in my own house! Most recently, I worked with a wonderful couple in their home on an ocean scene, and it reminded me how fulfilling it is to help others discover the joy of painting.
I share all of my upcoming classes and artwork on my Facebook page, Kiki’s Art Services, where everyone is welcome to join in on the fun. My next Paint & Sip is happening November 22nd, and I can’t wait! My ultimate goal is to open my own studio—somewhere warm, creative, and inviting—where I can host regular classes for everyone from complete beginners to seasoned painters just looking to rekindle their creativity.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Looking back, I’d say the three most impactful qualities that have shaped my journey are patience, adaptability, and passion.
Patience has been huge—whether it’s learning new painting techniques, building my business from scratch, or helping others learn to paint, I’ve realized that growth takes time. My advice for anyone just starting out is to give yourself grace. Progress doesn’t happen overnight, and that’s okay! Enjoy the process, because that’s where the best lessons and surprises happen.
Adaptability has also been key. Life changes, plans shift, and sometimes things don’t go exactly as expected—but that’s where creativity really shines. Being open to learning and trying new things has helped me turn challenges into opportunities. If you can stay flexible and keep an open mind, you’ll find your own rhythm faster than you think.
And finally, passion—it’s truly what keeps me going. There have been plenty of late nights and self-doubt moments, but my love for art and the joy it brings others always pulls me through. My advice here is simple: do what makes you light up inside. When you lead with genuine excitement and heart, people feel it—and that energy will carry you farther than you ever imagined.

Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?
I’m always open to new opportunities to grow and collaborate! I truly believe that creativity is contagious—and two creative minds are definitely better than one. I’d love to partner with other local artists for collaborative painting projects or community art events, and I’m especially interested in connecting with local businesses who might want to brighten up their spaces with custom window paintings or murals.
I’m also hoping to reach out to senior centers, daycares, and after-school programs to offer fun, engaging art classes. I have experience creating educational art activities that inspire creativity while helping people learn and express themselves in new ways. Whether it’s kids discovering their imagination or adults finding joy through painting, I want to share that experience with as many people as possible.
If you’re reading this and would love to collaborate, I’d be so excited to connect! You can find me and my work on Facebook at Kiki’s Art Services, where I post updates about upcoming paint classes, events, and creative projects. Let’s create something beautiful together! 🎨
