Meet Kiara Juniorr

We recently connected with Kiara Juniorr and have shared our conversation below.

Kiara, so many exciting things to discuss, we can’t wait. Thanks for joining us and we appreciate you sharing your wisdom with our readers. So, maybe we can start by discussing optimism and where your optimism comes from?
My mother. Growing up, she always showed my siblings and I that no matter what’s going on, there’s always light at the end of the tunnel. Storms don’t last long. There’s this saying “I don’t look like what I’ve been through” and it resonates with me so much because I could literally have my world crashing down but nobody will ever know because I still walk around with a smile on my face with my can-do attitude.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
Ever since a kid, I’ve always shown an interest in braiding. My mom grew up a trendsetter and one of the things she was known for was braiding her own hair. Growing up she’d have my hair is all kinds of cute, eccentric designs. That gift was passed down to me and now I find joy in re-creating different braid patterns for my clients. I’ve even ventured off into different categories like creating my own natural hair growth oil.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Perseverance, Faith & Individuality. No matter what your end goal is, you CANNOT just give up when things get rocky or they aren’t going the way you planned. You have to PERSEVERE and have FAITH that God will continue to direct your path as long as you keep putting in the work and learning from your mistakes so you can continue to grow. I also learned not to get discouraged because there are so many other people in my field. Instead I just work on doing things that make me stand out to continue to build my clientele.

Do you think it’s better to go all in on our strengths or to try to be more well-rounded by investing effort on improving areas you aren’t as strong in?
Great question! I believe it’s best to be more well rounded by working on your weaknesses. I think everyone should aspire to be a Jack of all trades. There’s always room for improvement even if you think you’re the best at what you do… but there should be NO limit to what you THINK you can do!
