Meet Kiara Ti’Chelle

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Kiara Ti’Chelle. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Alright, so we’re so thrilled to have Kiara with us today – welcome and maybe we can jump right into it with a question about one of your qualities that we most admire. How did you develop your work ethic? Where do you think you get it from?
A strong work ethic is vital to success in ANY endeavor. My parents have always instilled a strong work ethic in me since I was a child. They’ve taught me the importance of hard work, dedication, drive and commitment. To achieve anything in this life, you must have a strong work ethic. Growing up, I saw first hand how far your determination can truly take you. My father is a living testimony that dreams WILL come true if you believe and work extremely hard. I have always been told that if you want to achieve something, make it happen. I pride myself in knowing everything I have achieved and all that is coming to me is because of the work I put in and my commitment to it.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
I am an actress, model, and creator. As a creative, the most important thing to me is authenticity. I simply want to tell stories and help the world heal, feel, communicate and understand ourselves a little better by truly uncovering the depths of our own individual identity. I am grateful to be a representation of what it is to be human. It is never easy but in fact rewarding. I was born and raised in Houston, Tx and always had a passion for the arts. Growing up I would attend dance/theatre/acting classes, camps and workshops. Til this day, I continue to study the art of acting and remain a student. I am also interested in directing, writing, and producing. I had the opportunity to be an assistant director on 2 projects last year which was an amazing experience. My goal is to grow as an overall artist and creative in this demanding industry.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
The three qualities that were most impactful on my journey were commitment, belief and the ability to keep going. I have always believed in myself and commit 110% to anything I’m apart of. Being a creative is not easy and many do not understand. However, I live for me and will forever operate in what brings me joy. A dream doesn’t become reality through magic, wishing or wanting; It takes sweat, determination and hard work. You’re gonna have to believe in your dream more than anyone else and more than you ever thought you’d have to. Everything starts with you! You decide that you deserve the best and work 10x over to achieve it. I want to encourage others to believe in themselves and know that we are ALL capable of achieving greatness. Your will, want and drive is what will take you to success. Do not let the opinions of others get in the way nor weigh you down. Your vision is not for others to understand. May you focus on the things you can work on and change to be the best version of you! YOU CONTROL YOU!

Do you think it’s better to go all in on our strengths or to try to be more well-rounded by investing effort on improving areas you aren’t as strong in?
It is extremely important to be well rounded in this industry. I make it a point to learn something new every set I step foot on. The more knowledgeable I am, the more I grow as an artist and the more useful I can be. A goal of mine is to know every single moving part on set and each persons responsibility. Something I truly aim to learn is audio. Sound is hard but vital to any project! Last year, I had the opportunity to be an Assistant director on a project. Because of my knowledge of the camera and attention to detail, I got the chance to fulfill the role as DP (Director of Photography) for one scene which was an amazing experience. Utilizing my strengths and learning other positions allowed for more doors to open for me.
