Meet Kiara Vincent

We were lucky to catch up with Kiara Vincent recently and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Kiara , really appreciate your meeting with us today to talk about some particularly personal topics. It means a lot because so many in the community are going through circumstances where your insights and experience and lessons might help, so thank you so much in advance for sharing. The first question we have is about divorce and how you overcame divorce and didn’t allow the trauma of divorce to derail your vision for your life and career.
God and Family! Divorce was really hard on myself and my children. I never went into marriage thinking that it would end. So when it did everything was over and I was starting over from scratch. But God placed incredible people in my life who picked me and my kids up and helped us to start over.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
At Crown and Glory Studio, we specialize in inter grated extensions such as microlinks, Itips, tapes ins and Ktips. We want to give our clients the most natural looking installs without compromising the integrity of their hair. We are also excited about adding a color bar to our salon. We will be offering specialized color to both natural hair and extensions.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
I would say education, perseverance, and self awareness. It’s so important to not only master certain skills as well as make them your own. I didn’t want to be a copy cat, I wanted to be able to take the skills that I learned and make them unique to our salon. Unfortunately, that didn’t happen over night. It takes time to grow and develop a brand, so you have to persevere through those times and continue to remember the vision that you had at the beginning.

Before we go, maybe you can tell us a bit about your parents and what you feel was the most impactful thing they did for you?
The most impactful thing my mom ever did for me was allow me to be myself. She made sure that she placed me in environments that I wouldn’t have to compromise who I was. It taught me the value of being an individual. I definitely pray I teach my kids the same thing.
