Meet Kid Cambo

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Kid Cambo a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Kid , so happy you were able to devote some time to sharing your thoughts and wisdom with our community. So, we’ve always admired how you have seemingly never let nay-sayers or haters keep you down. Can you talk to us about how to persist despite the negative energy that so often is thrown at folks trying to do something special with their lives?
I got god on my side. So any person I answer to is him. Any negative comments or opinions are left to be heard but not to be spoken too. Also I stay persistent because I hate the what if factor. I’ve done it in sports and I never want to feel that way again. So I can’t quit now or ever for that reason.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
I’m focused on the music. I also wanted to express myself through music. Whether it be about myself or personal experiences. I just want to be able to share that through sound. I want people to know that my brand of music and my passion is based off of good vibes and I want people to come together when they hear my music.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
I would say the best three to help improve in a journey like this is, stay consistent. Consistency is key. Be true to yourself, other opinions can be helpful or can stunt your development so do what your gut tells you. Lastly I think networking with the right people, but knowing it’s a cutthroat, not everyone has their best interests, so when networking know the difference between business and friendship.

All the wisdom you’ve shared today is sincerely appreciated. Before we go, can you tell us about the main challenge you are currently facing?
I think the biggest challenge recently for me is just getting traction to a bigger platform. I know Im consistent, but I just need to perfect the content to make sure everyone relates to it or finds it interesting.
