Hi Kiesha, appreciate you sitting with us today to share your wisdom with our readers. So, let’s start with resilience – where do you get your resilience from?
As a beauty business owner, resilience is crucial for facing the challenges of entrepreneurship. My love for the beauty industry and the products I provide fuels my determination to overcome obstacles and succeed. I constantly seek knowledge and stay open to learning from successes and failures. I rely on a network of mentors, advisors, and a supportive team to share insights, offer guidance, and provide emotional support during tough times.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
As a body butter and holistic oil business owner, my role revolves around creating and curating premium, all-natural skincare products designed to enhance personal wellness. My focus is on delivering a wonderful self-care experience for my customers, emphasizing skin nourishment, feminine care, and overall well-being. Beyond product development, I manage various aspects of the business, from branding and marketing to e-commerce operations, customer service, and sustainable sourcing practices, all aimed at providing customers with safe, effective, and eco-conscious solutions for their skincare and self-care needs. As a body butter business owner, what I find most exciting is the opportunity to create products that truly make a positive impact on people’s lives. Formulating luxurious and nourishing body jars of butter that leave customers feeling pampered and rejuvenated is incredibly rewarding. The excitement comes from receiving feedback from satisfied customers who have smoother, healthier skin thanks to my products.

I started this business with the guidance of my mom. She pretty much gave me the OG Body Butter recipe, but I jazzed the recipe up a little. She’s my number one fan. I’m really thankful to have her support because on the tough days she’ll  push me with reminders of why, daily affirmations and supportive conversations. She’s my right hand!

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
In our journey as a body butter company, the most impactful areas of knowledge have been our deep understanding of skincare science, ingredient formulation, and quality control. This foundation has allowed KK Body Butter products that not only feel luxurious but also deliver real benefits to our customer’s skin.

How would you describe your ideal client?
My ideal client for my body butter business is someone who embraces the concept of self-care as a holistic and nurturing practice. They prioritize products that not only enhance their skin’s health and radiance but also align with their values. Ideal clients appreciate the use of natural, ethically sourced ingredients in skincare, valuing quality over quantity. They seek the natural benefits of body butter and natural oils, not just for physical well-being but also for the soothing and rejuvenating experience it provides. These individuals are not just customers but partners in our journey toward promoting healthier and more luxurious solutions.
