Meet Kieyesia Jetton

We recently connected with Kieyesia Jetton and have shared our conversation below.

Kieyesia, we are so happy that our community is going to have a chance to learn more about you, your story and hopefully even take in some of the lessons you’ve learned along the way. Let’s start with self-care – what do you do for self-care and has it had any impact on your effectiveness?
My self care starts with praying and I just started getting into meditation and I want to grow more in the yoga life to help with self care. I also love to cook and that helps clear my mind when I’m kinda stressed out.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
Hola,

My name is Kieyesia but I go by Kie for short and I’m from Baltimore Maryland but now reside in Atlanta, Ga where anything is possible. I’m currently in Healthcare but I like to have my hands in everything when it comes to the community, I just help build a house with Habitat for Humanity for a nice family, I have the Susan B Komen Breast Cancer Race coming up in October that I will be running in for a phenomenal cause. In my spare time I continue to work on my craft which is cooking cause I love to feed people and I’m also working on putting together a cookbook so it can be available on Amazon by the end of the year.
I love to travel and enjoy the blue waters of the world when I’m not cooking.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Looking back some of the most knowledgeable qualities I can say helped was being a people person with a huge heart cause it helped when I’m in the community giving back. My advice to anyone that is just starting their journey is to just believe in yourself even if it seems no one else believes your vision and also it’s okay if you stopped to pick it back up and keep going trust the process which I still sometimes struggle with Just keep going

Before we go, maybe you can tell us a bit about your parents and what you feel was the most impactful thing they did for you?
The most impactful thing my parents did for me was Teaching me to stay strong and if you fall it’s okay just dust yourself off and get back up and hold your head high.
