Meet Kiley Tkaczyk

We recently connected with Kiley Tkaczyk and have shared our conversation below.

Kiley, we are so happy that our community is going to have a chance to learn more about you, your story and hopefully even take in some of the lessons you’ve learned along the way. Let’s start with self-care – what do you do for self-care and has it had any impact on your effectiveness?

Self care to me means connecting with self and honoring my needs driven by intuition. I have had a deeply rooted meditation and breath practice for over 15 years, along with a yoga practice for over a decade. I prioritize movement every day, connecting to my breath, getting sunlight, and spending time outdoors. I believe in simplicity; I don’t need much more than.

This allows me to recharge and maintain balance so I can show up effectively in all areas of my life. I’ve noticed a significant difference when I operate from a regulated state s when I’m running myself into the ground, feeling untethered. In this state, I experience enhanced clarity and focus, which leads to improved decision making and productivity. I’m more present in my interactions and better equipped to handle challenges, improving my overall effectiveness and joy in both my personal and professional life

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

I am a birth and postpartum doula, birth photographer and a preconception/pregnancy guide and my mission is to facilitate a conscious connection to birthing journeys. Birth has the capacity to be and was designed to be the most life changing, transformative, unpredictable, beautifully primal initiation in a woman’s life. But overtime, birth has been overpathologized so much that women bypass the process, becoming disconnected from their instinct and intuition, the inherent guiding lights of birth.

We get back to that by having intention behind every action. I work with my clients a lot on their mindset; shifting their deeply rooted beliefs, fears, and stories into empowering unshakable confidence in their capacity to having a positive birthing experience, while remaining in a regulated state, avoiding rigidity and control. They understand the process, they get to know their desires and how to express then. This also provides the framework and mindset for postpartum and parenthood as well.

I am deeply passionate about the work I do because of the profound human connection it brings. Developing close bonds with families and being invited into this sacred, intimate container for the birth of new life and witnessing the rebirth of parents is deeply transcendental.

Beyond traditional support, I provide virtual services for those seeking guidance without physical presence, as well as one on one sessions focusing on preconception, mindset cultivation throughout pregnancy and labor, birth preparation, and interactive Q&A with doula and midwife perspectives.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

Three qualities that have been very impactful are selfawareness, authenticity, and curiosity.

Developing a keen sense of self awareness has allowed me to understand my strengths, weaknesses, and values; to be curious about who I am; and to view things from multiple perspectives. This clarity enables me to make more intentional choices that align with my true self. As a result of this growth, my emotional intelligence has also improved, enhancing my ability to navigate relationships, manage my emotions, empathize with others, and create a supportive environment for my clients.

Authenticity encourages resilience, as it equips me to handle challenges by leaning on my core values for strength and guidance. It establishes genuine connections with others, creating an environment of trust and openness. By being true to myself, I make decisions that reflect my beliefs and values, leading to a greater sense of fulfillment and purpose. This alignment reduces internal conflict and promotes a sense of peace.

Curiosity has fueled my desire for lifelong learning and personal growth, encouraging me to explore new ideas and remain open to change. It helps me stay even keeled, to challenge myself and to embrace new experiences with an open mind. Curiosity has proven to be helpful in order to adapt and thrive in various situations.

Looking back over the past 12 months or so, what do you think has been your biggest area of improvement or growth?

The biggest area of growth in the past 12 months has been becoming more trusting of myself, of time, of processes, and of the unknown. I have profound sense of surrender, adaptability, and ease with uncertainty on a level I hadn’t experienced before. The nature of this work is rooted in trust so that has translated into other aspects of my life and has made a really positive impact on the way I view things.
